It will probably be either: Opticomycetes ebayensis, Vitromycetes ruinosis, or Photomycetes hazinii.
Love it!

Finally found a 85mm Takumar that didn't break the bank but with some issue's so I decided to risk it.

Seller pic €120 including shipping. Described as:
coatings are a bit scratched, there are some small nets of fungus and dust particles inside, obvious signs of use to barrel, focusing is a bit dry and uneven, aperture is a bit lazy

No caps but with hood.
I hope you can fix it and enjoy the lens but I have to say that's more than I would have paid for that lens with that list of problems.

Just want to share that I just won eBay auction for FA 100mm F2.8 last week, it completes my transition from nikon to pentax (except I still keep 5 pre-Ai & Ai nikkor lenses and a nikon F2).

So far, I already have the 3 FA limiteds, DA* 55mm F1.4, D FA 28-105mm, and D FA* 70-200 F2.8 (won it on eBay auction as well).

As I have been using the Bellows-Takumar 100mm F4 for some time with focusing helicoid and I found it quite challenging in term of nailing the focus, I am really excited that finally I can get the FA 100mm F2.8

If you are doing close-focus at more than about 1/4 life size, it's advisable and easier to move the entire camera & lens closer to or farther from the subject to achieve focus. Think of the helicoid as changing the reproduction ratio, not a device for focusing. That said, the 100mm f2.8 will AF very close without fuss and is much, much easier to use than a bellows lens, and also has easily seen superior IQ.

Another job lot arrived - mostly various flashes and chargers, a couple of teleconverters, a Zenit E with case, some other odds and ends, and a Sigma APO 70-300 3.5-5.6 in Nikon AF mount. The lens has the usual black sticky coating problem but it's otherwise OK and works well. Paid £23 for the lot including P&P, should make a reasonable profit. One more job lot to come.

Don't sell these! If you do you will regret it.
I am happy to use both Pentax and Nikon manual focus gear.

Closing down on my 645 lens collection

Just pulled the eBay trigger on two Pentax 645 zoom lenses, the 55-110mm and the 150-300mm. I still need the 25mm, the DA 28-45mm, the FA 33-55, and the A* 600mm.

Thank you for your advise, I will still play around with the Bellows-Takumar and try that.

IQ wise, yes the 100mm F2.8 has more contrast and better rendition though the Bellows-Takumar is surprisingly almost as sharp as the newer one.

Hi Chris, yes i will never sell it. I got it from my dad before he passed away, and though it was his primary camera but i got handful chances to use it when i was in school.. it was very rare occasions as normally i was only allowed to borrow his fm2 or that strange rollei 35 with flash hotshoe at bottom.
I sometimes play with the pre-ai lenses attached directly to my K1 Mk2, I knew it is safe to do that from this forum and actually it is one of the reason why i move to pentax. I dare not to put on the ai lens yet since the lens mount is too protruding compared to pre-ai.

Sounds like you've picked the best of the best for your AF Pentax collection. If you're already shooting film on the F2 you might find shooting some film on those Pentax lenses, especially the Limiteds, a rewarding experience too.

Yeah, thanks to this forum, I read lot of information and saw heap of sample images from the review pages and many other threads as well which ultimately shaped my lens preferences.

I am actually interested to shoot film again, but not now.. maybe after the situation is getting better.

Received the last of the job lots I was expecting today - a lot of stuff, but condition of some of it isn't good, I think I'll make a profit but it won't be huge. For £40.99 including P&P I got:

Tamron adaptall 1 200/3.5 - lots of fungus unfortunately
BPM bellows, M42 thread, a bit worn but usable
Astron 50/3.5 enlarger lens - OK
Paragon 300/5.6 with PK T-mount - whitened rear element but probably usable
Hoya x2 teleconverter for PK - OK
Set of generic M42 extension tubes
Telescope lens adapter with PK mount
Celeston x15 telescope lens - looks OK
Itorex variable closeup lens, slight fungus
Hoya variable closeup lens, jammed
Prakticar 2.8-3.5 35-70 Praktica bayonet - looks OK
Prakticar 2.8 35mm Praktica bayonet - looks OK
Various hoods, filters, caps and several cable releases.

Nothing to make a huge profit, but most should sell and the cumulative total should be enough to cover it all.

Congratulations on the FA 100 2.8 lens. I have been after one for some time without succes.
It is a great lens , gives excellent results. the lenses especially the legend ones are the reason I chose Pentax many years ago.

As WPRESTO pointed out it is easier to focus by moving the camera than to try to focus with a fixed camera distance.
