Received today via UPS, a Yongnuo YN 560III speedlight to replace the one that got fried by last-week's arrival, the Vivitar 585. I was surprised to find that the replacement is subtly different than its predecessor. The head movement is smoother, the zoom motor is faster/quieter and it has a slightly different rear display along with the status light turning blue while charging and red when charged rather that orange all the time. The big difference is addition of firmware update via USB. The YN560III being a fairly basic unit, that last puzzles me a bit, but it is good to know it is there.

I've had my Pentax 35-105 A Macro Zoom since Dec. 1984 and it is one of my all time favourite lenses. Until I read your post I never realized that it had a lens hood...obviously an extra cost item, as I don't recall the lens coming with anything .

That's right, I didn't know that there was one till I saw it on an auction site. Then I found by its reference on the PF site:

I am using My Vivitar Series 1 70-210/3.5 hood for that. It's not that deep. It clamps on. The trouble with rubber hoods is that they will eventually wear out though. There is an Auto-Takumar 35mm 1:2.3 coming in from Japan, currently stacking costs. From 191 euro I am now at 236. Clearing VAT and import duties still to come.... Maybe I should be more patient.

Yup, brand new as in camera shop new old stock, never sold. Never even had a film through it!

It's just arrived, not 5 minutes ago.
Not many people would swoon over an '80s Pentax, but that's a beaut.

OK...Time to end this

Hood: about 8$ (including shipping)
Copipod: about 8$ (including shipping)

The cost for the shipping was seven time the accessories.
