Bought an EVF Novoflex 020 for my Leica M10 and nearly got my nuts chewed off at Leica forum for blasphemy.

IKR, digital! You can't even put film in an M10. Junk. (Srsly though, what weirdos.)

Got my first K-mount wide-angle prime off eBay. Hoorah! SMC M 28mm/3.5. It's actually in much better condition than I expected.

Not a camera or a lens, not a photographic thing but something that will help facilitate some photographic projects; a VW T4 camper van.

Hertz rental

Just leased new Toyota Camry, one week rate, for $24, to drive from Cleveland, OH, to Dallas, Texas, actually 60 miles south of Dallas.

Another in the same vein, but yet to actually arrive - a "Blue Badge" for the disabled, thus allowing me to park in spaces reserved for those people (unfortunately now includes me as I have a very bad back - displaced L3 - and severely arthritic knee and so can't walk far or stand for very long). Therefore we shall soon be able to go out to some special events and "famous places" - where, otherwise, I dare not try to do that, and take some photos (hopefully decent ones)

I just got a new camp stove for backpacking and it's kind of amazing! It's so small and it works very well. On top of that it was pretty cheap!

That's great - as I use public transport, parking is not an issue for me, but walking certainly is these days. Maybe people didn't die at 'three-score years and ten' - they merely seized up all together, but were buried as they were too long to be used as draught excluders.

Very cool! It looks a lot like the MSR PocketRocket, but for $20 less with a pot thrown in.

It's very similar to the MSR. The pot was actually not included but I had it already. Still $20 less!
My last stove was a 4 season stove that ran on white gas. It was bigger, heavier and a lot more expensive. White gas is best for very cold temps but in general that isn't when I'll be backpacking.

I came here to say just that! Looks a nice little one.
I've had to trial a few stoves for work and for the price, the Fire Maple 'X2' is a good little kit. Very reminiscent of the Jetboils with a decently large cup (that can hold the canister), stand, plus the burner unit has a piezo so can get it started without the need for matches/flint. Surprised me how nicely it's made.
For $20 though yours is a steal, Matt.

And I've just upgraded from a little, manual hatchback to an automatic Skoda Octavia Estate.
A huge improvement in comfort and size.

Mine was $20 less than the MSR but it cost $50. It also fits in the pot with the fuel. So I used to carry the pot and then a MSR fuel bottle and Primus stove separately so this frees up a bit of space in the pack for more camera stuff!

I read some articles like this one to make my choice. Looks like there are lots of good options for not a lot of money these days.
