Mine turns out only to be focussing up to 9 meters so something is wrong with it. The rear element seems to deep. When I focus to mfd there is a gap between the rear element and the tube it slides through. Could you check if yours does that?
I have had great shots at all focus distances from minimum (under 5 feet) to infinity. I see no gaps anywhere - everything fits and slides snug as can be. At minimum focus distance the rear element is about two inches in from the mount ring. Mine is a PK mount, I guess your Pana is the same.

Nice one - I didn't realise the Konica Hexanon lenses came in M42, I just assume that they're Konica AR mount.
I've been keeping my eyes peeled for a 40mm f/1.8 after letting one slip through my fingers for little money...

On an aside, you'll love the Tak 135/3.5. I got one of my favourite pictures of Mabel out of an SMC variant of the 135mm f/3.5.
I couldn't tell if the mount was Konica AR or M42, the adapter was a generic with very little written on it, the lens was shown only with the adapter mounted. I can use the 24mm on my Sony in full frame mode, so it's a good buy for that purpose. I will know in a day or two when the postman arrives, and then I can tell you.

I bought the Tak because I have been disappointed with the sharpness of my Pentax M 135/f3.5, and I want a small 135 for travelling. I have the larger Adaptall2, Vivitar (Komine) and Jupiter 37A for driving trips.

Thanks. Yes PK. I tried to get of the mount but the screws were very tight so I stripped two of them so now I'm screwed with no way of getting inside. It is definitely deeper in mine....

edit: well I drilled them out but no luck getting to the focussing helicoid yet

Well, I went for the deal of the day and got the last one. Samyang 35mm f1.4 lens for $286 or so. Been wanting one of these for awhile and this is the least expensive I have ever seen them. Applying credit card rewards points made it even less expensive. Should arrive on July 29th.

OOOPS!!!!!! Arriving Wednesday July 29. Being retired really screws up your internal calendar. Since each week now consists of 1 Sunday followed by 6 Saturdays things just sort of blend together a bit. Date corrected.

What is a retired person supposed to do on one of those early-stage dementia tests when they ask what day it is and being retired, you just don't give a d---? Just say "The day after yesterday."

If you think you already don't know what day or date it is - try working the overnight shift!

I hear ya! I paid some bills today and dated each check for the 29th rather than the 27th.

the cookies are delicious - I keep them in the refrigerator and they are so crisp and refreshing....

there are two more lenses due this week, so I need to make sure I have enough on hand....

no idea on what camera body this Mamiya was designed for... I do know that this lens was also sold in an Exacta mount and given an "FC" designation....

First shots with the Konica Hexanon 24mm, and yes it's a Konica mount, so the adapter to NEX means I can put this one on my Sony A7ii.
