Forgive me for asking, but what is SRS an abbreviation of? I've seen it mentioned a couple of times at this point. Is this a well-known shop of some kind?
SRS Microsystems Ltd. in Watford: Cameras, Lenses & Photography Specialists | SRS Microsystems

I don't know what the "SRS" initials stand for, but they're an excellent Pentax dealer; my first choice when their pricing is competitive. Both pre- and after-sales customer service are usually first rate. I've had a lot of gear from them and very few problems (which were quickly and painlessly dealt with to my satisfaction)

Today's car boot finds - a Zenit 11 body (unfortunately has a shutter fault) with a good Helios-44M-4 58/2 lens, and a Vivitar TX 70-150/3.5 close focusing (no mount) for £20. When I got home I found an old TX mount which is coded SL but I have no clue what it's for, anyone know? Also a couple of Mac power cables for £2, always useful.

Also went to a Cash Converters I haven't visited in a while and found a Jessops 1.4x AF teleconverter for Nikon - seem to be pretty good though I won't be able to check it properly until tomorrow, and unless it's really disappointing I'll be keeping it for myself.

I sold my HD 55-300 and purchased a used 55-300 PLM off the forum marketplace. After correcting a pretty significant front-focusing issue, the lens is just plain excellent on my KP. I’m particularly impressed with images taken at minimum distance.

I'd just come to the same conclusion, having failed to find a useful list of codes - somewhere I have an adapter for QBM lenses to Canon, I'll check it on that a little later.

later - no, it's not QBM. My next best guess is Leicaflex SL, but I have no information on that mount at all so I can't be sure - they don't even give the flange dimensions on Wikipedia.

more later - I was mixing up Leicaflex SL and R, SL is MUCH too late. I am now VERY baffled.

So, earlier today I put a Sigma 35-70mm f2.8-4 (pka variant) zoom lens on my ebay "to watch" list incase the seller lowered the price for it down the road, and the seller offered me a discount for said zoom lens, so I may or may not have bought said zoom lens. And me being me & not realizing it, it turns out I bought my Pentax ZX-L from said seller before 😂

A Sony A290 came up when I was mindlessly looking at Ebay, great price with the kit lens so its on the way. Said kit lens will most likely go back on the auction site as I am not a big fan of 18-55 lenses having only kept the one with the K50 as it is also white and weather sealed so the combo can be used in bad weather. The 290 is a CCD based camera as far as I can tell the same sensor as in the 380 I have and that produces good files similar in rendition to the 10mp sensor in the K200, K10 and Nikon D60,80,200 cameras.

Turns out I wasn't mixing them up - SL is the older one, and now looks very plausible since the back focal distance is 47mm, which is the approximate distance I was getting when I tried it on a Canon Eos - about 3mm deeper than the Eos, which is 44mm.

Non-photographic acquisition.

This is not about photography, but I stumbled into such a good deal that I must share my good fortune. Following up on a local furniture moving sale that my wife located, we found dining room and den furniture for sale. Dining room consisted of a 3-leaf solid oak 2-pedestal Amish-made dining table, 7 matching dining chairs, a massive hutch/china cabinet, a small matching whatnot cabinet for cutlery and other small objects, and 6 new full-length table cloths with matching napkins for a table of eight. Everything was in perfect condition with no apparent scratches or defects. This dining set was exactly what my wife wanted to replace our old, out-dated dining room furniture.

The den furniture was of an old "This End Up" yellow pine brand, and included sofa, love seat, coffee table, two end tables, and three decorative pillows for the sofa. Also included was a 64-inch LCD television set with wall mounting fixture and add-on sound system.
The den furniture was exactly what my daughter needed for her 2BR condo.

My estimate of original price was at least $10,000, and perhaps much higher depending upon the value of the new tablecloth/napkin sets. These nice folks sold it to us for only $1,500. I have located a local drayage/moving company to bring it to our home for a charge of only $250.

Sit, eat, stash and watch in good health! Oh, and use a napkin when something dribbles.

I have just picked up an MD-NX adapter. Now I can finally try out that Rokkor 58mm f/1.4 lens that I've had for a few years.

Edit:
it did not work out well. See the buyer's remorse thread for details.

Unfortunately it turns out that it really is Leicaflex SL - but incomplete! Someone's selling one on eBay, but theirs has an extra metal piece that's missing from mine. When I checked with a magnifier I found holes where it had been removed, really not sure why. So what I think I'll do is sell on the mount as faulty, for spares / repairs, and keep the lens in the hope that another TX mount turns up.
