a set of four adapters arrived for the Fuji also:

one note on them: fantastic build quality, but do not buy them direct from K&F; it took three weeks for them to arrive from Shenzhen....
Good to know. I've been thinking on getting an adapter to try my Pentax lenses with my a6400, but never decided which one to get between K&F and Fotasy. Thanks to you, I'll get the K&F.

you're welcome - you should not hesitate on the K&F adapters.... but buy one from Amazon or B&H, etc.....

Except, possibly, their M42-K...prone to getting stuck as with most non-genuine adapters.

Ooooooh! Lovely. I have one. I bought it about 4 years ago. It is exquisitely put together. I can not but think that Nikon must have made a loss on every one they made. Shame about the silly battery bay though.

I love the old Nikkormats; they are so solid - seemingly bulletproof. I have several different models.
Nikon was one of the last manufacturers to get on the SLR cheapening bandwagon in the late 1970's.

Shortly after the release at Photokina in 72, my first reflex camera was the Nikkormat EL with the Nikkor 50 f/1.4 and since then all the Nikon up to the Nikon F3 HP,
really beautiful and sturdy machines, as indeed almost all the reflex cameras of that period.

Only one thing in Portobello Road today - paid a pound for a little Olympus Camedia case that didn't contain a camera, but did hold a little case with two 16MB SmartMedia cards, and a Camedia remote control - put in a new battery and it appears to be working since I can see the LED flashing with my infrared camera. The remote ought to be handy if I get one of these cameras, and the cards fit a lot of early digital cameras so ought to useful.

In less good news the Braun Paxette I got on Sunday locked solid while I was testing the shutter speed, I'm going to have to sell it as faulty.

Excellent stuff Aaron. I’m sorely tempted to look for a film scanner myself.

On an aside I’ve seen the suggestion that you’d overexpose by approx 1 stop per decade the film is out of date!

Nice, I own the EL and that camera is built like a tank. Your EL2 should support a winder, my EL is simply hand cranked, but it is one of my favorite oldies from the Nikon line although it tends to suck up battery juice quick. The battery compartment being under the mirror is a non-issue, as the mirror lock-up makes it a breeze. If you have large hands simply craft a small plastic picker and you have the battery out in a jiff. Nice grab! I hope you post a few pics of the rig.

Here' mine with the 1.4 Chrome Nose:

OK, all my stuff has come in.

2 Nikon N60's, 2 Quantaray lenses, 1 Nikon N4004s plus a Nikon 35 -70mm 3.3, and 1 Nikon N6006.

Everything works as it should with the exception of the 4004s which arrived with a corroded battery compartment and the camera was D.O.A, but the lens was nearly perfect, so the deal worked out in the long run.
