Fortunately my particular version of GAS is the low rent version. The newest thing I bought that I really didn’t need is a Minolta 16 QT on EBay.

Remember buying one of those new as a youngster. Had a lot of fun with that camera.

Thanks for sharing,

Hello dear LBA addicts,

Is a SMC Pentax DA 10-17 in a very good shape for $120.00 (shipping included) worth it?
Thank you to let me know.

If there's nothing wrong with it, seems like a steal.

If you do buy it I'd recommend looking out for decentering and other mechanical issues.

That sounds like a bargain. The lens is stellar bar its purple fringing, its sharp as a tack, 10mm is a great fish eye, 17mm its a great ultra wide. You won't use it a lot but when you do you will love it

I understand that there are some great Minolta lenses, but I have always thought they were not useable on Pentax without corrective adapter glass, and in fact I have such an adapter for a very good 28mm Minolta lens. If so then are those of you who use Rokkor lens using them with corrective glass, or on some other camera platform? Inquiring minds want to know. :>)

arrived today - the pancake on the left

That's a very handsome wooden grip on your Fuji.

I owned that Minolta for a while and while it's nice enough, my Minolta 50/1.7 is much better. The 45mm wasn't very sharp at the APS-C edges even stopped down a little and as I wanted it also for use on my film cameras, I sold it on. If you want it for APS-C use then you may find it's performance acceptable, especially given the size.

Here are the RevueFlex and Auto Revuenon which arrived. The lens is the version with the ugly rubber focusing ring but for what I paid I can't really complain.

Excellent looking acquisition. The camera looks a fun bit of kit, too.

I'm really looking forward to shooting it, I just need ot get around to replacing the light seals. I think it must be the heaviest 35mm SLR I've ever held, and it's big like a K-series, so it feels great in the hands. The shutter sound is very nice too.

Just purchased a new tripod - I'm 6'2+ and was tough finding something with appropriate height with center column retracted - finally chose a Benro model (tma47axl). Wasn't overly concerned about the excess weight as this is for local use and car travel - it's not that bad. This certainly isn't a hiking kit !! but it feels well made and sturdy, massive legs.
I live in Canada and the pricing from B+H was excellent compared to what I would have paid here considering fx/tax - I ordered 11/10, the tripod and an Acratech plate - free shipping - received the plate 11/13 and the tripod came in yesterday - I'm impressed.

My old Bogen/Manfroto 3021 with legs but not the center column fully extended perches the camera too high for me to peer into the viewfinder without going on tippy toes, which is more difficult for me to do now than when I bought the tripod many decades ago. And I have B&H really outstanding with delivery time. Here in MessyChewBits they have sometimes gotten an order to me in 36 hours.

Been wanting to get that 2x converter too to go along with my recently acquired adaptall 60-300 zoom. I like the lens a lot and got decent pics using a cheap soligor converter.

Thanks for your reply, I am a little 'afraid' about the purple fringing but at that price...
