The "best" is about 6X8 inches, holds all my equipment and when filled, feels like it contains nothing but Styrofoam. Still looking.

Just bought a speculative job lot - three zooms, two of them for Minolta MD and the third for NEX but in two pieces, someone has unscrewed or otherwise messed about with the front element. I was the only bidder and got it for £14 including postage. I really doubt that I'll end up with a working NEX lens but at that price it has to be worth a shot.

Should see it towards the end of next week.

out it goes!
I think you've gotten the wrong thread.....

I can understand with so many lens comings and goings you would occasionally get confused

Next chapter in my tripod renewal project. After I got my bigger CF Benro tripod setup all dialed I decided to work on the leaner side of things, or maybe the mid range.
I wanted a new head for my old Manfrotto 190CX3Pro tripod. I spent a lot on my big Benro stuff so I wanted to try and not spend as much on this. But I do like the oversized ball and low profile style. After getting and returning a Neewer 44mm ball head that would not clamp tight enough I tried again.
The next one, a Innorel N52 ball head seems much nicer. Not quite as good as the Benro but at 1/3 of the cost it seems pretty good. Definitely better than the Neewer with its oversized knob. Maybe a little stiff in cold weather but I'm hoping it will break in. Time will tell but I'm hopeful.
This will be my mid weight setup. Something I can hike with but still not a "travel" setup which I find a bit on the fiddly side.

Finally got Capture One 20 for the August 25, 2020 deal ($175). I was so frustrated that I missed it, I even emailed Phase One about it (they replied respectfully, but no deal ).

Since August I've been using Luminar 4 (bought the copy as it was rather affordable). While the results there are great (I know a few of you using it with amazing results), for me the program behaves very slow. Also, I don't feel as much in control overall as with LR or when I used the free trial of CO20.

So, today was a good day.

PS - B&H also threw in a $25 gift card... I'll get that in a week via mail, will likely seek to get rid of it at a discount price (but I won't have it until a week from today...)

I've found my latest acquisition at a vintage store for 4.99$. It didn't look good but one can't go wrong for this kind of price.
I opened it, cleaned all the inside, reglued the window which had come loose & revamped the case which was in a sorry state. Voila.

Great find and fix up. Looks great and what a deal on a top light meter like that one.

I just bought a Sigma 300mm f2.8 for just under $600 from Japan. I don't have it yet, but I paid for it. Just waiting for it to ship. The seller said it has some dust inside and "small mold around the dust." I didn't see anything but small dust spots and paint chipping in some areas in the photos. This will be my first truly exotic lens.

Thanks :-)
Here's the best part, it gives me good readings even tho it's loaded with alkaline PX625. I believe the previous owner had it serviced to run on 1.5v batteries.
