CAMERA IS BACK.
Little sooner than I anticipated! Looking forward to getting back into the swing of it.
Yay! I am looking forward to see what you do with it. You will be posting a glamour shot of the lens, right?

How do you like it? It makes me nervous spending a pretty good chunk of money on an item rated as ugly or bargain (although the hope is that KEH rates it conservatively). Haze or fungus? I noticed a lens I want at Adorama I think listed as “very good” but upon further reading, I think their rating of “very good” might mean light haze is a possibility.

I think that 135-600 lens stood out to me on the old Pentax brochures as an especially impressive looking lens.
Everything from Keh is fully returnable and refundable, no questions asked.

The lens will arrive in a few days. Generally, KEH's Bargain/BGN grade lenses are very nice optically and mechanically. They look better than ones graded 8+ from B&H or EX from Adorama. Any lens with fungus get an UG for ugly grade at KEH. KEH no hassle return policy and the 365 day warranty offered through 12/31 made me reasonably confident in my order.
Free shipping and it arrived on New Years Eve. At least FedEx Ground has its act together from Georgia to Pennsylvania.
My Rating based on initial inspection: Cosmetics- Excellent to Like new, Optics: Excellent -no haze, no fungus and for a thirty plus year old lens, minimal dust. Mechanism: Very good, a bit stiff and zoom is somewhat gritty due to lubricant age. Case: Excellent. Came with its original close-up diopter and lens caps. Would have graded EX+ At Adorama and 9 at B&H. Here is a link to the photos I took of the lens in the Gear Porn thread

I tried to shoot this afternoon but it was after 3:30 PM, heavy overcast and dark. Beast weighs 9lbs 4oz with a 5 inch lens plate. I’m waiting for a long plate with camera support. I’ll take and post photos of the lens in the Gear Porn thread tomorrow.

I’ll be interested to hear how that autofocus adapter works with the lens.
OK... arrived today, count me less than impressed. It works intermittently with my 18-55 EFs, but really doesn't like working in poor light. I also tried a big 100-300 EF zoom I'm selling and it didn't seem to want to focus it, I'm guessing it needs more power than the NEX can provide or something, though light levels may again be an issue. I want to try it with the 18-55 outdoors and in bright conditions, but if I don't get good results it's going back.

Nice! I did suggest Tunnocks Caramel Wafers a while ago but that was a little too localised. Jaffa cakes would be an alternative but they don't stack easily, so the question should be "milk chocolate or dark chocolate digestives"?

I saw that lens. If I did more architectural photography it would have been mine instead of the bazooka 135-600.
I’ve been buying from KEH on and off since 1994 (B&H Too), I’ve had to make returns, never a problem. As a matter of fact, three items under $75 that had issues, KEH refunded my money and told me to keep, dispose of, or donate the items. One lens was a write off, the other two items I was able to repair.

Either works for me but I am partial to milk chocolate ones.
The supermarket own brands do them just as well as the branded stuff so I’ll save a few pennies while I put on the pounds.

I would have thought you would be shedding pounds whilst making the acquisition.

Super Multi Coated Takumar 150mm f4

I don't think that this lens appears very often. I found one on a local site (Gumtree) advertised as Takumar lens 150mm made in Japan) with no pics and no description. In response to my message, the seller said that the lens body and glass were in good condition, but still he could not send me a pic of the namering or the lens, so I sent him the payment on Nov 21st. After a series of prompts, he posted on 16th December and it arrived on Dec 29th.

I am lucky, his descriptions were honest, and it's the last model with the best coatings. Here is the new toy mounted on my K-70, and two shots taken with the lens on my Sony A6000. The ceramic pig was the very first pic, taken aat minimum focus, and you can see the smears of dust on his face.

Worth the wait!

They are rather unusual. The 135 and 200 on each side seem more common.
