All the XC Mount Fuji lenses are excellent in good light, see if you can find a 50-230 at a good price. Then for longer reach an Olympus C-180 TC will screw onto a ring to attach to the 50/230.1.7x gives almost 400mm.

Thanks. I will keep my eyes open for that

A big lens to go with my small DSLR!

Even though the combo is heavy, it feels very balanced. I like how the lens body matches the K-mount mirror box portion of the KP's body.
The Sigma 17-50/2.8 is a superb lens with really great rendering. It's especially good to blues, so clear skies or the blue hour are good times to give it a workout.

Now if there were one inconsequential "fault" that could potentially bring down the price of a lens without one iota of impact on IQ, that's it.

All the 50-230 lenses I see at decent prices get snapped up very quickly.

I'm waiting to see how bad the lens is, since it was surprisingly cheap....

Also had to get some new appliances. The others were:
Rusting out (fridge)
Not cleaning (dishwasher)
Not getting to the right temp (stove)
Ugly and mismatched (all)

They actually look like they were always meant to be there.

Another M42 Fuji. Inching towards buying a X-T20 or maybe a X-E3...

Kinda jealous, makes my Sigma 17-50 2.8 recent acquisition a little less shiny! I would like to own that lens, for sure.

A Canon Eos 400D with a 50mm lens for £35 plus P&P from Oxfam - ordered earlier this week and arrived today. It's an emergency buy since my old 400D suddenly developed a serious flash fault and it's the camera I use for most of my product shots and lens tests. The replacement is cosmetically poor and has a crack on the protective glass over the LCD screen, but it's working well and the lens is good, and ought to tide me over until I find something better. I should be able to sell my old Eos body (which is fine if you don't want to use the built-in flash) and the 50mm lens and break out even, maybe even come out slightly ahead.

Just received the same lens about a week ago. I am really impressed and glad that I have had no focus issues (or anything else) that would necessitate returning the lens. I read the reviews and decided to take a chance. Glad I did.

I have the dock for it just in case, but no issues either.

Not an acquisition, more of a re-acquaintance. I was looking for something in the safe when I noticed a hair dryer box and wondered why it was there. Inside was not a hairdryer, but my trusty Pentax AF400T. Its status had been "misplaced" for quite some time.
