Originally posted by D1N0 Yes. It is also on the focus ring second pic. The only reason this lens is F3 is apparently that Vivitar had dibs and didn't want others to have to same speed lens (in name only though) A later version of the Panagor is also marked F2.8 The true F value is probably somewhere between 2.8 and 3.0. I copied a slide with it and it seems pretty much 1:1 (slide is balancing i a lens wrench so a bit crooked
)
Vivitar also had some less common f-stop values for their Series 1, Lenses = 135mm f2.3 and 200mm f3.0. On the other hand, none of us think it unusual to have a normal lens with a 'tweeny f-stop, such as 50~58mm f1.9, or f1.8, or f1.7, or f1.5, or f1.2 or f1.1, or f0.95 - but I cannot remember a 50~58mm f1.6*, although there probably was one*.
*I thought f1.6 seemed familiar The current Lensbaby 56mm is f1.6. So for normal focal length prime lens there are or have been some with maximum apertures of: f0.95, f1.0, f1.1, f1.2, f1.4, f1.5, f1.6, f1.7, f1.8, f1.9, f2.0, f2.2, f2,4, f2.8, f3.5 and f4.0 (a 50mm macro). Did I miss any?
