I just received a super-multi-coated 50mm MACRO-TAKUMAR M42 lens, a set of M42 extension tubes in their proper case, a reverser ring, and an SMC Pentax-M 50mm f/1.7 lens from Oneill.

I am just waiting for my genuine Pentax M42 to K-mount adaptor to arrive (it should be here tomorrow).

The macro equpiment looks virtually new , and the 50mm f/1.7 lens appears to be in excellent shape, except for a minor scuff, which Oneill noted in his ad. I am VERY pleased with these items, but haven't had a chance to try them yet... I hope to either get out on Wednesday, or to set up something in my apartment that will let me try that macro lens.

I want to thank Oneill for the speedy service, the excellent condition of his equipment, and for the multiple macro related pdf documents he forwarded to me. I wouldn't hesitate to deal with him again, and am hoping to do so in early July, if the ad for his macro stand listing is still up.

Stopped in the camera shop to get a lens cap, but walked out with an M28mm attached to the cap for $30. I've got an A28 that I really love, but will play around with the M28 before passing it onto a better home.

They also had an ME Super with a winder, but I didn't think to check the price.

It's really a nice little lens and I like that it's so tiny, but I can't tell the difference in images compared to my A28.

Now they both seem to out perform a Sears 28 that I used to have.

Think when I bought it many years ago, the camera salesman told me that it was based on the Pentax Takumar screw mount design, which sounds right.

Just got my old stock, never used, still in the case, 40-year old brass and leather belt buckle emblazoned with "Pentax". Perfect match for my 40 year old Hank's belt.

The only issue I see is that the buckle is so old that the lacquer covering the brass part is dried out and lifting in a couple of tiny spots. Anyone have advice on resealing it? Leave it alone?

Many belts attach the buckle with a couple of press-snaps to hold the leather end that folded. I would try to undo those, remove the buckle and dissolve off the old lacquer, then apply some new clear lacquer or clear, spray-on polyurethane (not sure how well that binds to brass)..

I would worry soaking it in anything would damage the leather Pentax badge.

I just obtained a copy of the " MAGIC LANTERN GUIDES - Pentax Classic Cameras: Spotmatic Series, K2, KM, LX, and M series " written by Paul Comon copyright 1999

EBay seller said it was in " very good condition " but when it arrived it had multiple dog eared pages and the front cover torn at bottom

sent complaint and was told to go through ebay return process

then got complete refund from seller

so I guess I shouldn't complain about it

I just ordered the expanded, updated “”The Ultimate Asahi Pentax Guide 1957-1977” directly from the author Gerjan van Oosten!
$66 shipped. The original, long out of print version sells for hundreds of dollars.

HOORAY! For someone else who uses charcoal in a charcoal grill. I just cannot understand a charcoal grill that uses propane.

Bought a 2-story house

I bought a two-story house in the Philippines so I will have a cool place to live when we go there for vacation. Otherwise, I cannot stand the heat and humidity.
