I have lenses that take that size and while B+W, Heliopan, and Tiffen support 40.5mm, the breadth of filter types is not huge. Glad you found an adapter, though I will mention that B&H has an excellent selection of step-up rings from 40.5mm. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/buy/Step-Up-Rings/ci/420/N/4026728361?

Steve
I think you may have misunderstood. The adapter is to allow me to use 40.5mm filters.

I have a Nikon F4 with the Nikkor f1.4 autofocus lens wending its way to me. And, as befits a Pentaxian, a gently used K-1 mark 2 and its matching battery grip just now ordered. That K-1 should be an imposing beast with my f1.2 50mm. Good for available darkness work.
Gotta get a grip on this GAS problem.......but later!

You would be correct! Sorry that the makers did not anticipate your desires.

I've found the best solution is to just keep letting it out by buying more!

I jusy picked up one of those studio lighting kits, three tripods, a couple of brolleys and three flash heads for $20. Someone who is moving house and used to photo babies apparently was clearing the garage and wanted rid of it, so I was happy to oblige for that price.

The heads flash, there are a couple of extra cables and bits that show it was packed away with other gear and then never taken out again, all I need to do now is work out how to trigger the flashes

I found a super-deal on this lens that I have been wanting for ever... and I wanted the HD version because I believe it's quite an improvement over the SMC version (and I don't care about starbursts).

Of course there's other lenses I'd like to try out but I really need to focus on taking pictures now instead of looking at gear!! I don't really need anything else...

I'm with Matt - did you try other lens and what body?

This is on my bucket list to research with K-1 and and Sigma 70-300 APO DG.

I've decided to keep the converter for the time being and see how I get along with it. Yesterday and today I did some more shooting with both the K-1 and K-3 with the 150-450 + TC and everything was sharp. The K-1 combo was the sharpest of the two which should not be a surprise. I wanted the K-3 combo to be really good for wildlife which we shooters can not get too close to. Maybe I should empty my savings account and get a K-3 III.

It seems that using Pentax has left you black and blue.

A box of Zeiss wipes for glasses and lenses. At home I usually just take a damp paper towel to clean the front elements of my lenses, but I like to pack some of those wipes in the bag for when I'm on the move

I forgot to say, in my HD DA 21mm box, there was the filter reducer and cap for an HD DA 40mm Limited - the all metal one, looks like it was never used.

I contacted the seller and said if they send me a shipping label I'll ship it back to them... but if I don't hear from them, I guess I'll have one to give to whoever wants it (since I have no interest in buying the 40mm - I have 2 35mm lenses and a 30mm lens that I love...)
