I've never heard the difference in speakers or headphones after playing them for long periods of time. I think people just get used to the sound, or they expect a difference.

I own about 10-12 pairs of speakers. A few of which I got new...

Anywho picked this up on ebay, should be arriving in march (photo is from the auction).

It's the Zenit MT-1 "Surprise" (which according to my friend in Moscow surprise has a very limited scope in definition, usually meaning something like a "gift" which is funny for a piece of equipment meant for endoscopies).

It's a modified Zenit 19 meant for lab work as mentioned. What makes it pretty unique is the half frame mask and shortened winder for half frame photos. This makes it one of the few SLR options for half frame photography.
Even more curious is the fact that this one seems to have the M42 mount instead of the unique mount for the medical equipment so it should be quite useful. I'll get some more glamor photos of it when it arrives in a month or two.

C1 the large electrolytic capacitor is usually at fault.

Electrolytic capacitors are problematic as they degrade over time.

Unfortunately they are also present in most speaker crossover networks.

Chris
I am pretty sure my Monitor Audio speakers don't have electrolytic capacitors in the crossovers. They use polypropylene. Any idea which speakers use electrolytic?

What would be the preferred volume level for this sort of thing, then, full, half?
Full will harm the speakers. Just louder than you would usually listen to them.

They made great speakers in the seventies but it might be a good idea to replace the capacitors in the crossovers. You won't have noticed because it happens gradually but the high's and mids (of they are threeway) will probably have degraded over time. They contain fluid which dries out making them less effective.

Yesterday I picked up a Sankyo Kohki Japan Komura 200mm 1:4.5 Looks to be a triplet and has many aperture blades.

16 bladed aperture:

Ordered a SMC 135/3.5, to join SMC 135/2.5 and M 135/3.5. The Tak Bayonet 135 "departed" because I just didn't like the build/design, optically it was fine

Do you do any astrophotography? I'd be curious to see how this performed.

Two Heliopan yellow filters, 39 and 52mm. Shocked at how expensive filters are becoming - £65 for the pair. Could by a Chinese lens for less than this for Fuji X mount LOL.

I will post again, for maybe the sixth, or maybe tenth time, this website

www.adapterrings.com

and this secondary website which is part of the preceding company:

https://www.camera-filters.com/

They have many filers at very reasonable prices, including some made by highly regarded manufacturers which I suspect are unsold stock from numerous dealers, or perhaps old designs they've obtained directly from a manufacturer.

CAVEAT!!! They are presently closed until May 5 () for vacation . Still, believe me, the site is worth a look if you're in the market for filters.

Added: They are presently offering a Hoya 52mm yellow filter for $20 USD, but no yellow filters smaller than 49mm at the moment.

I can confirm this to be true, I recently picked up a 7artisans 25mm f/1.8 for £40 posted and a TTArtisan 35mm f/1.4 for £59 posted.
Both great lenses, actually!

Did you get Lycra to wear while riding Tim?

Mark says it is a must.

No way.

Besides, I would not want to buy secondhand Lycra with a secondhand bike.
