Domke Metropolitan Crosstown Courier bag in black

It's from Domke's discontinued (?) Next Generation line.
I like that the pouches at either end are removable.

After a very disappointing start to the weekend, today seemed to be heading the same way until I got to my last stop of the day - where I got a big camera bag full of Pentax and PK-fit gear for £20

Haven't tested it all yet due to other things going on, but it includes a Pentax SFXn body with a 28-80 AF zoom, two generic PK-mount 80-200mm zooms (one PK-A and the other PK-M), various caps, filters and straps, and two electronic flashes, one an Olympus T32 which unfortunately isn't working because It's probably worth at least a tenner on its own, the other a cheap bit of crap. Also an unused roll of slightly outdated 35mm film, which I'll keep for the next time I want to take test shots with a 35mm camera. So far the only problem I've noticed is that there's some sort of mark on the camera's focusing screen, might be a bit of crud caught between the screen and the prism. So I need to find out how to take it off for cleaning, if possible, but that can wait for daylight.

Oh, I really like that. It's hard to gauge the dimensions based on the image, how large is it?

I've been thinking about having a friend sew some velcro pads on the side of my F-5, so I can slap pouches on.

Tiffen (Domke's USA distributor) sales sheet with dimensions here:

https://manualzz.com/doc/11294039/crosstown-courier

Based on published dimensions I expect main compartment is about the same volume as the F5XB.
I am not usually a big fan of bags with end pouches, but since they are removable...

Chris

Fine lens.

I’m replacing two items I’d previously sold and have regretted the decision for a couple of years. HD DA 18-135 WR and a K-50.
Missing having a weather resistant one lens solution (not wanting to ruin my SIGMA 18-300 DC) and I’ve found my KP and K-70 less than ideal when using many of my large Takumar m42 lens collection. Sometimes sensors can be too sharp. I loved my old K-30 (died of aperture block) for m42, and stupidly sold it cheap. The K-50 will be my m42 camera even if its currently good aperture solenoid bites the dust.

Finally picked it up and I’d say $20 well spent.

Need to figure out the filter tray and get a cheap timer, but it’ll work until I pickup one that’ll do medium format.

I’ll just use my watch and the toggle switch for now.

Sigma 17-70/2.8-4.5 DC Macro was my first K mount lens ever.. bought in early 2008 with K20D and I still have it. But recently I saw one Sigma 17-70/2.8-4.0 DC HSM with very nice price tag.. and now I have both. Optically the output is similar. The improved version focuses a bit faster, silently and is maybe a bit more reliable. Also a bit larger and heavier with shape very similar to Sigma 17-50/2.8 using some shared housing parts obviously.

K5 + 17-70/2.8-4.5 & K3 + 17-70/2.8-4.0

not camera related (ok, I did shoot it with a K-1) but what I believe is a 1941 Zenith am/shortwave console radio. Was advertised as a 1932 that was 'working'. I'm thinking lights up, makes noise then catches on fire. To my surprise the seller had totally refurbished the electronics. Cabinet has a decent restoration (8/10). Not much on AM where I live but does pick up a few stations.

I hope some day I can have room for an enlarger. Love doing my own prints.

You will have to show off the results.

Oh, I'm going to have to get creative and stuff this thing in a closet when I'm not using it. I tinkered with it this morning and it's VERY compact, but doesn't seem like it'll produce much larger than a 5x7.

There is a community dark room, 20 miles away, so I can always go there if/when I need to print bigger than 5x7.

I used to have a well equipped and dedicated darkroom when I still lived with my parents (15 years ago), but didn't have anywhere to store everything when I moved out on my own...... Starting over from scratch is rough.

My first enlarger, a Kodak Hobbiest with s circular fluorescent light, had a two button switch = hold down the red button for a few seconds to let the bulb warm up, lift finger to get the full light, press the black button to turn off. I used a black-sided piece of mounting board held under the lens until the light was full on, pulled it away and counted seconds from a little tick-per-second clock, then put the mounting board back and shut off the light. If you buy one of the very cheap Travel alarms sold under the Braun label, they tick once-per-second exactly and are loud enough to hear easily in a darkroom.

Still waiting on my Zenit MT-1 Surprise to come from Ukraine, backed up for obvious reasons. It's just a Zenit-19 that has a half frame mask but the one I bought seems to already have an m42 mount which will be nice with my collection

Speaking of Takumars though, does anyone know if there's any compatibility issues with the 8 element tak 50 1.4 and the zenit-19?
