I’m gonna be like George and post about a non photography related acquisition.

Well, it is a photographic subject, and there may be more photos shared later on, as assembly to the engine, and installation into the car progress, in a more artistic manner, with proper photographic equipment, and not these poor cell phone shots.

Anyway, a package showed up from France, 26 kilos in weight. I’ve been waiting on this about as long as Covid has been a thing. The delay was blamed on supply chain issues.

It appears it was worth the wait.

I am eager to move forward now with the work on the car I bought this for.

pretty and all - I'm looking forward to the sound of it....

I found this Panagor tripod collar in a thrift shop.
I never saw anything like it, and there was nothing about it on Google or Ebay.
Has anyone here used one like it?

5 rolls 135-36 JCH Street Pan 400 film from Freestyle
I thought I'd give this a try. Could this be my new ISO 400 BW film?

5 rolls 135-24 FPP X2 (Eastman 5222) film from MPEX
A recent favorite. I prefer 24 exposure rolls when available.

2 rolls 135-36 Kodak Ektar 100 film from Continental Photo
Color film selection is pretty slim lately.

I would say it should work with any diameter lens barrel diameter it fits tightly to.

Nothing exciting except a Canon Eos 1000D I found in a car boot sale, which I'm going to keep for myself. I had to buy a battery charger to check it was working - it is, but the battery is on its last legs so I've had to order a replacement. All together the camera, battery and charger are costing about £34, which is pretty good. Once I'm sure it's all OK I'll be selling on my old Eos 400D, which is a similar sort of specification except that it doesn't have liveview, which should be useful for the lens tests I do.

See if you can get any Kodak Vision 250d. Its cine film and has a remjet layer so needs special developing but its 40% cheaper than the rest and the colours are beautiful

I broke my monopod while trying to attach a pistol-type ball head on it. More specific: the 1/4" metal screw was the broken part, broken and dropped off. My fault, I was simply not careful enough.- Slip happens!
So, I had to buy a new one. Just a very basic model, Slik 350. Low cost, but relatively high benefit for my purpose.

Now, what could I do with my old monopod, the one without a screw on top of it? Any ideas?

An adjustable walking stick, if you do that sort of thing.

Looks more like the stuff of the torture chamber in the nearby castle museum...but let’s assume panagor was only intended for photography.

If you overtighten on a lens barrel with a different diameter , it might become oval...not sure if this is beneficial. So I assume it is intended for a specific diameter....

I use my monopod as a walking pole while hiking in difficult terrain. “Walking stick” tends to have an aged and infirm connotation, at least in this neck of the woods.

Sum total of three car boot sales, several charity shops and two street markets this weekend was one Vivitar 2x converter with Pentax-KA mount. Some days I think I'd be better off staying in bed, but the exercise is probably good for me.

A youngster has a shepherds crook...this is shortened with age and becomes first the hiking pole then the walking stick ?
