If needed they can be useful to defend against any wild animals you might encounter as well.

I started using a walking stick - or a monopod when vacationing - after my second hip replacement, especially whenever our daily walk is off pavement onto a woodsy trail. I don't know if I'm "infirm," but my balance is none too good and is easily lost. I had poor balance even when I was a little kid, and it's been downhill ever since. Aside from falling being a major threat to my health at my age. my leg joints are so stiff it's very, very difficult to get up from the ground. It's not good to deny reality, it's a bit dangerous.

I’m having troubles when I accompany my 6-year-younger wife on her birding walks, so now I’m “auditioning” lenses to use with my Q-7 to make a kit lighter than my KP kit. I made an offer on a Pentax-A 35-105 here {basically the “equivalent” of the 55-300mm I use with my KP}, only to find out that he had already sold it on another site, so I went to eBay and started watching one there; in less than an hour, the seller offered me a slightly lower price {and no postage nor PayPal fees}, so I actually come out ‘better’. Now we’ll see how manual focusing goes {and how light this kit actually feels}.

while I will agree that the A35-105 zoom is a great lens, I cannot imagine that it would be any lighter than then lens you intend on replacing it....

A $1600 root canal (and I still have to go through getting a crown - another $1200):

Ouch!!

Dentistry seems to be really expensive in the states. Last time I had a root canal I don't think it was even €300 and they did a superb job. I remember seeing an American gentleman at the dental clinic, the owner was speaking to him in English, I think he came from the US to have extensive work done. If a root canal costs $1600 then I believe it really might be cheaper even with flights.

This is in Canadian dollars so you can knock off about 25% but it is still expensive and will be about the same as what I paid for my K-1 + 28-105mm lens and grip that I had purchased in March. Thankfully I have insurance and hopefully they will determine it was necessary (thus they have to cover it) and my out of pocket will be much less.

Got some 120 rolls of film:

2 rolls of JCH 400, a 616-to-120 adapter (for the Kodak Special 616), a roll of Delta 400, & a 620 roll of FPP Frankenstein (found out after buying it's actually Fomapan 200 -_-)

And just ordered some Shanghai GP3 100 (4 rolls in 120, 3 in 620) from their online store. Overseas shipping wasn't that bad, $9 bucks for the slow shipping (~two week wait, depending on how goes).
After a 2 week wait with no shipping conformation email after ordering from SHJC, I emailed them last week about it and they said because they were still in lockdown untill May 10th (the date the local government gave them). Ended up just cancelling & getting a refund, partially due to me completely forgetting they were in lockdown this whole time & partially because the local government may end up just extending the lockdow. Plus I figured it would be one less thing the workers there have to worry about since theyre going through a rough time :/

I was able to get some 620 spools, and I feel like I got the "respooling 120 film onto it" part down.

A very good choice - congratulations! I've been using DA*60-250 quite a lot since 2013. It also couples fine with HD DA 1.4x TC if you need longer reach. And I'd say the size is quite understandable concerning the specs and quality of the lens. You'lle get used to it.

That is funny. Dental is the only medical specialty kids choose straight out of school to study the BDent, all the other specialties they have to study genaerlist doctor first before taking up the specialist training.
