You probably mean f/2.5 or it is the adapt-a-matic version

HD FA 31mm Limited

Just got an HD FA 31mm Limited from Amazon warehouse. It was hundreds of dollars off of new pricing. Looks brand new. Not a mark on the caps or lens body. It looks perfect and tests perfect. The original purchaser must have had a case of buyer's regret.

I am I bit concerned that the edge sharpness when open all the way is not what I had hoped but that could be due to field curvature.

I worried about the reports of purple fringing. I found it harder to provoke than anticipated.

Great lens! This will be fun.

Oops, yes, it's the f/2.5, first version, which I think is 01B. Won't get my hands on it until next week though.

I've had both - the 01B and the 01BB; coatings changed a bit between them, and the focus ring got smaller on the later version, making it less friendly to use....

There are three versions. There is also a first generation adaptall 24/2.5 the CW-24 unclear whether it has the same optics

Serendipity brought these two at the same day. One from Japan and one from here in the Netherlands.

Good looking hard to find (in Europe anyway) m 120mm/2.8 so I got one from Japan in an auction. Paid about 40% less than your average buyitnow price.

Pentax-M 85/2 Looks good apart from aperture that won't close down consistently and protective flange is missing, so presumably some Canon shooting person has had their hands on it. It's not like I'll use it much other than wide open anyway so I don't care much. I paid 75 euro's for it which is a good deal for any 85mm lens.

I thought the first version was adapt-a-matic or something, a precursor to the adaptall system. Anyway, I've yet to find an adaptall lens that I was happy with although the others have all been zooms, mostly telephoto ones, that I bough to get the mounts. You can typically get a cheap adaptall tele zoom with a mount on it and sell the lens sans adapter for what you paid for the whole package. That's how I got my K and KA adapters.

There have been some Adaptall II zooms with good reputations, but the primes have generally been better. Tamron Adaptall II primes that come to my mind as being well-regarded include 1) 90mm macro; 2) 180mm f2.5; 3) 300mm f2,8; 4) 400mm f4.

the 24/2.5 lenses (01B and 01BB) are solid performers, but I was never enamored of the 28mm Adaptalls....

the 52B and 52BB (90/2.5 macro) are good, but the 72B (90/2.8 macro) is better...

and that 180/2.5 is a desert-isle lens...... so good.....

Thanks for filling in some of the WA Tamrons. I'm not familiar with any of those from personal experience or reading reviews or comments.

I have the three SP zooms that were very highly regarded (and priced accordingly) when they were released: 24-48, 35-80 and 60-300.

These are all quite cheap these days, although the zoom ring can be problematic on the first two - I had one of each that jammed, but now I have really good ones.

Another 645….My first one didn’t like air travel and resigned, without notice, shortly after landing in Denver last week. (Leaving me on vacation with 4.5 rolls of Ektar and nothing to shoot them with).

Just need to snag the pristine battery holder from the busted camera and ship this one off for a CLA.

A new MIM Player Stratocaster. Got at slight discount because it has a 21 instead of 22 fret neck. My first real Fender.
