Another recent acquisition is a Fujifilm XA3. It was cheap (new in box but without the kit zoom in the box!). I bought this mainly to see if I preferred the Fuji to the Sony as a light and small body that can take vintage lenses. Also, I have always wondered about the Fuji film simulations.

A 24MP mirrorless with no viewfinder - so an interesting comparison to my K-01 and Sony A6000. first impression is that it is not as easy to handle as the Sony, but has better battery life. I think I will keep my K-01 for the Limited lenses.

I bought three adapters, for M42, Konica Hexanon and OM mounts. Now I get to put my Taks on another small and very light body. Only tests to date have been with the SMC Takumar 55mm f2 (the last one) and the smc Takumar 150mm f4.

Very good find.

Should be a good one to use. I like the bit of projection distortion it has.

The hood divides into two pieces.

I can unscrew the piece with the glass filter in it, but can't seem to get the filter out.
Any suggestions?

A filter wrench that is wide enough for a 77mm filter.

Have you tried letting the hood half with stuck filter warm-up on the window sill for 30 minutes then try to unscrew the filter from the hood?

If other methods fail, do you care if you damage the filter? If not get a grippy thing like the plastic lid removing sheets, for kitchen things and grip the glass in the filter. And more destructive than that if it fails, pliers to grip the filter thread.

Here is a size comparison of the three. I would like to Fuji to deliver great pics with adapted lenses, since it is 24MP which is same as the Sony and more than the K-01 at 16MP.

After a long drought, I have expanded my collection with an SMC Pentax 135mm f/2.5. It will go nicely with the SMC Pentax 135mm f/3.5 and 200mm f/2.5 that I already have. The SMC Pentax 85mm f/1.8 would round out my budding K series telephoto collection - maybe one day.

For now my Rokinon 85mm f/1.4 serves me well. What would be nice is the Rokinon 135mm f/2 to go with it, but they are fairly rare in K mount and I am not in any hurry. The new-to-me Pentax will do nicely for now.

3 rolls 135-24 Fuji Superia X-TRA 400 film

Overpriced but in stock at Photo Warehouse.
When will this color film shortage end?

Orwo are said to be bringing out a colour film, Kodak gold 200 is not too expensive but the most interesting is Kodak Vision 250D. It needs special developing but the results are stellar

I have the X-T2 and the X-H1, both with the same sensor as the X-A3 - it produces amazing colors and does really nice monochrome shots....

Here is the first set of reasonably good pics with the X-A3, using Takumar 150, Hexanon 24 and Tak 50. So far so good, thanks for the encouragement.

My OM adapter arrived today so I plan to check out the OM 100mm when the weather improves.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. I struggled with the mediocre resolution of the display as the only way to focus, even with the focus assistance. That pic of the rose bud was not sufficient DoF to be able to get the spider-webs and the thorns all in focus, and I could not tell that from the screen on a sunny day. I was very pleased with the gerbera and the zygocactus.

I've recently accepted the fact that I probably won't be buying much color film after my current supplies run dry. I'm sitting on a about 18 rolls of assorted color 120, while I try to find someone to CLA "Dr. Frankenstein's Pentax 645".

I've been feeding the 35mm bodies a healthy diet of Acros II and TMAX 400, while using the DSLR for anything color.

What I do when that happens is to wear common kitchen rubber gloves, the ones that are used to do the dishes. That increases my grip a lot.
