While I really like the DA35 Limited for many reasons, it won't play fair with my Ks2 +sick solenoid. While seeking 50mm macros I found a steal on a 'rough' manual focus Sigma. The only thing rough about it is the sides of the aperture ring where I get a grip! Paid about $30, and it has the 'A' setting when the body is healed and can automate the aperture again. Review score here is 9.07.

as always, pardon the phone camera it's cr@p

I bought a book.. for the princely sum of 50c Canadian (about 38C US). I’m not much of a magazine reader but it looked interesting from a historical perspective. The perfect accompaniment to a rainy weekend. The Best of Popular Photography was published in 1979 and was a selection of articles from the first 40 or so years of publication:

Here is another two shots, this time with the standard issue 16-45 lens (which Ken Rockwell rates very highly). A starry reflection, and an IR filtered shot of my papaya trees (using AF thru the IR filter, it worked?)

Wow, I wasn't expecting that. I thought you were very happy with APS-C, why medium format? Just to try it out?

exactly that - I'm quite happy with APS-C; enough so that full frame never really interested me....

but medium format, even the smaller 645 version is enough of a jump in sensor size/resolution to make a visual difference to me...

Fantastic. Hope you enjoy the D as much as I did. I am looking forward to seeing some of your work. Pretty soon you will be wanting more medium format lenses!

I can only equate it to film and medium format vs 35mm. The size difference of the negatives says it all and the extra detail, ooooh lordy! I love medium format so much

plus the 645D is a CCD sensor, rather than CMOS....
