Not photo related and definitely not something I’d ever buy myself, but I scored a free pair of apple air pods at a work event.

Pretty nice and the noise canceling is surprisingly good, but not $250 nice.
I got mine when I replaced my iPad. Like you, they are nice but not that nice.

gee this will be fun. I got to buy two new tires to replace the rears on my 370z that were riding on and wore out the edge exposing the steel belts. Yeah, $600 later and next we get to see what kind of damage the rear suspension has and what that will cost. Car wasn't wrecked but something happened in the last few weeks and wore out the tires in a hurry. And that's also before seeing what the damage is going to cost on my kid's Jeep (multiple driveline problems). Yeah, it's bee a fun and expensive day in Teletubbies land...

Just switched over from a Samsung S8 to an A52S 5G which will hopefully last as long as the S8 has (three and a half years).

And yesterday I picked up a Sigma 35mm f/2 DG DN for L-mount, officially the most I've ever paid for a lens. It seems to perform very well indeed.

two new rear tires for my 370z, so far (probably won't stop there.) Long story short, tire pressure light came on yesterday while at lunch. Took it to a gas station but no air, so went to tire shop. They went to air it up and discovered the inner edge was worn into the belts with wire sticking out. Thought I could make it home. However when I came out to the car later it was nearly flat again. Went back and it wouldn't hold air, so we put the spare on. I've got tires ordered that should arrive today, but need to have the suspension looked at to see what's going on. Had it in the shop for an alignment & inspection a few months ago before taking a road trip and it was given a clean bill of health. I was under it a few weeks ago and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary, so whatever happened is recent. It's rear independent suspension so there's more to fail than a traditional solid axle. Which of course means expensive...

tried to load a photo but getting errors on the page, so will try later.

I think that sounds like an expensive problem. I got off easy on my last problem that was a surprise, but was still several $$$: the routine 48,000 Km service on my Tundra revealed a pinhole leak in the radiator. I say easy, because I could time the repair, but it isn't cheap to take the whole front end of a Tundra apart to change the rad out. I looked at repair, but 90% of the cost was labour to take the truck apart and put it back together again. 3.5 hours

Three Domke gripper straps. These are all extras. They were shipped today. I bought them on January fifth for $15.21 each! It took only five months to have them shipped from Tiffen.

I buy the tan ones and dye them unique colors to identify the camera they are attached to.

Fortunately it was just way out of whack and nothing broke. Need to keep an eye on it.

SMC Pentax-FA 100mm 1:2.8 Looking good after I investigated and it is not missing a front element. Glass is just very receded into an incorporated hood.

Well scored, D1N0! I got one of these about a year ago in pristine condition, and it's a winner - really sharp.

After more than two years of no new (old) lenses entering my life, I got a Tamron 28/2.5 (Tamron Adaptall-2 28mm f/2.5 (02B) - Pentax Lens Review Database) at an "everything must go" garage sale for $10 this morning.

Now I'm wondering: does the "Great 28" compete with the "Nifty 50" in the LBA department?

This is my fifth 28mm prime (M 28/2.8, K 28/3.5 Shift, Vivitar 28/2.5, M42 Vivitar Series 1 28/1.9) not to mention my motley assortment of seven zooms that include 28 in their range.

I'll definitely be testing this lens to see how it does. If it turns out to be "Meh" then at least I'll have a Pentax Adaptall 2 mount I can use for some other Tamron lenses.

That lens deserves a bit more credit than the reviews say. I'd say it can compete with your Pentax-m 28/2.8

Awaiting comment from Pepperberry Farm........ although he works only with crop sensors.

In 28mm I have the same model Tamron, also a K series, M series, OM, Hexanon, MD-mount Soligor and a Nikon in the post. I still don't have a Takumar 28mm. So maybe Great 28 is a thing now.
