Nice looking watch. I always liked the self winders.

I haven’t worn a watch since the late 1970’s. In fact, I don’t wear rings or neck chains either. Always getting hung up on things, and getting torn off.

I went back to wearing an a watch couple years ago. Got tired of the smart phone distracting, so I make a conscious effort to leave the phone on the kitchen counter when we’re home.

My Seiko automatic is usually fairly accurate and it glows in the dark. I’ve usually got to set it once a month, but it’ll never need batteries.

After tech school I soon realized wristwatches were incompatible with my work.
Ditto my wedding band later on. Some I knew wrapped electrical tape over theirs.

Wristwatch?

Does anyone really use those these days? After all, nearly everyone has a cell phone, and they all show current time, never require winding or adjustment.
Yes, of course. Lots of people do. For last 5 years I was programing for a Swiss watchmaking company, they sell a lot of watches each month. I use one too, despite having a phone with myself. It is easier to take a glance at wrist then take off an activate smartphone.

This is mine, almost 100 years old so not pretty and shiny but still works. Dare you to find a smartphone that will work after 100 years. And without electricity :P

I lost my watch in 2002 and haven't ever felt like I needed a replacement. <shrug>

I just got a Fuji GFX-50r from Japan with a very low shutter count. Now that they are discontinued prices are getting pretty reasonable. I'm replacing my 645D and plan to adapt some old lenses but I also bought the 32-64/4 native lens to get me started. The 645D takes great photos but I wanted some more modern features like Live View/Peaking. I could have gotten a Z of course but they are more expensive and a lot larger so I'm testing the GFX waters. Time will tell if this was a good move or not...
It seems just about all the digital 645 shooters on the forum are switching over to the Fujifilm GFX system in the last year or so, though many keep using their Pentax lenses on them.

If Pentax are going to continue with the 645 system then they'd better produce something new and significantly better in the very near future, though I suspect it's already too late.

Yeah I feel like they are missing the boat. Even for late adopters like me.

Ferrania seem to have made a return to social media in the last couple of days, maybe to coincide with availability of new stock. Still no mention of the colour films they initially promised though.

I just bought a K 30mm f/2.8 from a forum user, so looking forward to that, but no idea when I'll get it as Brexit means that I can't have it sent to me in Spain without incurring huge VAT and duty bills.

replacement for broken copy that was stuck at 35mm.

The M40-80 was the very first Pentax lens I ever bought. Still have it today, and use it periodically on my K-1

Well yesterday the delivery truck delivered a few things to top off my field grade first aid kit. If you have a deep puncture wound I can now insert a probe and get some blood clotting agents deep into it to stop bleeding until you get to surgery. The first aid kit is now pretty complete and my only hope is that I wasted all the money I spent on stuff as it will never be needed.

Also some MC4 connectors to replace ones used to construct a few cables for one of my solar systems. Two MC4 splitter cables in the package too. I am putting together a kit to add an additional 190/200 watt solar panel to the roof of my RV trailer. No hurry so I am accumulating stuff as I have the money to do so. There is room for one more so why not. After that I will upgrade to a LiFeP04 200Ah battery. That is in the future as I might as well use the two 68Ah sealed lead acid batteries that I already have.
