Astronomics, which, I believe, is the largest astro-gear retailer in the U.S, has their proprietary "Astro-Tech" line of products for us, and I recently learned of the PF flat-field eyepieces, they offer.

Bought and tried one in 5.5mm length, which sports a 60° AFOV, 16mm eye-relief, and the flat field, all for just $55! The orthoscopics and original Ultimas I have in this length seem unusable, now.

If you have high-end oculars you don't need this, but it truly is an exceptional value. Other F/Ls available, some with 65° fields.

Batch arrived. Shot the zoom with the 35, the 50 with the zoom and the Nikkors with the 50

SMC Pentax-M Zoom 24-35mm 1:3.5

SMC Pentax-M 50mm 1:1.4

And the Sonnar and Gauss version of the Nikkor P 105/2.5

Double Gauss

That's a very nice batch of stuff!

I've been on the lookout for an M 24-35mm zoom for use on film for a while but they seem to be quite rare and I've yet to find one for a price I consider reasonable. I have the A 24-50mm but it doesn't have that nice manual lens feel to it.

I payed
¥6,210/ $€44,36 from Yahoo.jp via Zenmarket. Wide angle zooms are still sought after and that was as low as I could find one without obvious optical problems. In wide angles any kind of haze is usually lethal for contrast.

I received my monochrome-converted K3 from forum member Medex today. Just in time for a vacation next week! Very anxious to use it for some set ideas I have around Cedar Key, and as a second camera for an upcoming portrait shoot early next month.

Tamron SP AF70-200mm F/2.8 Di LD(IF) MACRO A001P

I just got a Tamron SP AF70-200mm F/2.8 Di LD(IF) MACRO A001P lens from MPB for $424 in “Like New” condition with case, with original cap, in original box.

It wasn’t. The lens looked brand new and performed great. However in the box there was a card with a yellow tag from Tamron stating this was a “Refurbished Lens”. Additionally the tripod mount ring was missing. Neither item was stated in the listing.

I politely complained to MPB via email (they have no phone), asking for a $180 partial refund for the misleading/wrong listing and purchasing a tripod ring. They countered with $100 and the statement that “As we do sell all used equipment, an item being factory refurbished is not something that would affect our condition rating.”

I feel deceived, frustrated, and taken advantage of. I will take the offer because of lack of options. I have spent a thousand dollars here. I think I’ll stick to KEH and PF for used gear from now on.

I got a Pentax SMC 21mm Limited about two weeks ago, and a Pentax SMC 40mm Limited is on the way! So begins my journey into primes in general and Limiteds in specific! I suppose I could do worse!

Congrats. I like how small, contrasty and flare resistant they are.

the 590nm filter will allow more visible light onto the sensor, along with IR, for interesting color and bw images...

Thank you! I’ve been having a field day with the 21mm, and plan on adding the 70mm next year! For a compact 21, 40, 70 kit.

Cool, thank you! I have yet to do any IR, but I’m still ticking!
