Noooo... I won't bye-bye my K-7. The K-01 and Q are fun, the K-7 is a real camera

Yes, the rubber door is a poor design, but I'm with THoog on how to handle it.

I've been known to ignore it and just let it flap in the breeze. :P as long as the inner door is shut, if there's a picture that needs taking I'm not going to quibble if the rubber door is slightly askew

True, but after seeing what that sensor can do, I'ma save up for a k5.

Guess I'll just have to live with happy flappy in the meantime.

Yep, all other cameras have no problem with it, but the Q gives a 'Memory Card Error' 90% of the time.

Chinavasion have a wifi card that might be worth trying, which is not tied up.
Odd.....my Q deals wonderfully with my SanDisk branded EyeFi (jpeg only) and EyeFi X2 (Raw)....

Yeah, mines a Eye-Fi Pro X2 8Gb, JPEG/RAW/VIDEO
Seems fine with my K-01 as well.

I have *exactly* the same card in my Q, and use it continuously for the past year or so...

Mine isn't Sandisk branded. Maybe there's the difference.
My Sandisk Extreme 8Gb works fine in the Q.

Well, I don't think that's where the difference is. I have two (well, three, really) EyeFi Cards:

o Sandisk branded (and which doesn't transfer raw/dng)
o Non-Sandisk branded, but the regular EyeFi pro X2 8GB

Both types work really well in my Q and K-01.

It's rather interesting, though: perhaps we have different versions of firmware on the cards? (Have you upgraded yours to the 5.xx series firmware?)

No idea how to update a card firmware. Doesn't seem to be any download link on the EyeFi site. All I see are the release notes.
If it requires I install their cr*p Eye-Fi Center for Windows then forget it.. won't do. I wanted to sell the card a while ago but to de-register (so that the new owner could actually use it!!) I have to install their software again.. Support was of no help.. "Sorry, you must install the Eye-Fi Center for Windows to de-register your card".. Well, not happening..
I actually never found the card of any real positive use.. So never mind, I just use it as an 8Gb card

Truly, a $299 compact backup body with a K5 battery and a K5-like sensor was impossible to pass up. I had zero interest in this body for its list price, but I almost bought a second one at $299.

Could not agree more. It was nice when I got it that I already had a battery charged up and ready to go

I did the same thing.

As it turns out, though, another bargain may better suit my original thought for the K01--as my wife's primary camera to upgrade her Canon SD880. She hasn't warmed that much to the K01. She wanted an upgrade to the SD 880 to be able to isolate her subject more but wanted to keep the camera relatively small and simple, and keep a zoom. The K01 automatic modes and face detection don't seem to work for her as well as she wanted,, and the kit lens was the only zoom small enough. On Monday, the Panasonic Lumix LX7 went on sale for $298, and I bought that instead of getting a second K01 for me. The LX7 with its F/1.4 aperture zoom may sing to her better., and I'll get to keep the K01.

Funny, I bought my wife a GF2 for the same reasons. She used it twice and said it was just too big. She now has a Panasonic P&S and is very happy with it. When I told her the K-01 was a MILC she said it was "huge".

The LX7 is a little bit smaller than the GF2 with zoom lens, but hopefully, the LX7 will now look much smaller compared to the K-01 with kit lens attached.
