That photo should be flagged as porn,....

I've been buying glass instead of attachments.
I've gone from a P30n and a pair of lenses, to K-01 nut with 6 lenses in about 2 months.

That's a nice looking rig pghwarrior23, I've been eyeing the equipment over at the Hondo site, seems reasonably priced.

I too purchased the K-01 specifically for shooting video. It got too hard to pass up when the price fell below $300. Great sensor and love the focus peaking. I have not shot a ton of video with it yet, but have been adding accessories to complete the setup. Thought you might like to see a photo of the current setup.
Cool rig.

DSLR accessories are CRAZY expensive. Thanks for the link to hondogarage--It's nice to know that there are some reasonably priced accessories, follow focuses, etc, etc.

Here's one I shot in an afternoon for a clients local council building permit objection.
If you check out "Basement Apes Live" on Youtube or Facebook, there's some live music stuff I've been involved with lately, using the K-01 for the tripod mounted wides and close-ups.
Wow I just watched part of the Ghost Orkid episode, and it was really great work. Are you involved in the recording aspect as well as the video? The sounds were really great.

Oh yeah and i have a video to contribute to this thread. All shot with K01. The noise got pretty bad on the straight-on shot, but we were pretty dimly lit and I preferred the noise to changing the mood too much.

called the $50 follow focus from a company called Hondo Garage. Crazy how expensive some of the video gear is but small companies like this are making some really high quality products at really reasonable prices. HONDO Garage - HONDO Garage
Great tip. Going to look into that. I do film with the K-01.

"Ghost Orkid",... band name not familiar - Simon, who does the audio, does a multi-track recording of the bands, and then does a post shoot full remix, gives the best possible 'live' sound.

He'll love that someone appreciates the effort

Some questions about the K-01 for video:

1) Does it have an external microphone jack?
2) I've read conflicting reports about the ability to attach an external LCD monitor and use it for live video feed while shooting. Is this possible?
3) How long can you shoot for w/o the censor overheating? Is it an issue at all?

Thanks?

The answers I do know is:
1) Yes, I do it all the time and I've even disabled the internal mic in the menus.
3) I've shot for 15 minutes continuous in 90 degree weather, sensor didn't shut down but was hot. That's not an answer, exactly, but it's the most I've done.

As for 2) I've heard it can be done but it's not going to be out the HDMI port. I haven't needed to try using it yet.

Ok, I think I got #2 worked out above: It does NOT have live HDMI output, but it DOES have live AV output. Sound right?

Shooting times probably does depend on the environment your in. I used it extensively on a very hot day for shooting images while the camera was on for hours. With video I shot soccergames with no problem in 6 takes total time over 90 minutes.

Sounds correct, but I don't have memory of what monitor has been recommended here. I would just use it for framing myself.

1) Yes, lower left side of the body, under a rubber flap. (opposite side to the SD Card slot)
2) Yes, but ONLY via the ANALOG output - you will need the USB-AV cable. HDMI output is only available when using the camera to playback images and video.
3) Several Hours - I've not had mine overheat, and have had gigs where the camera was recording for several hours.

The Analog output carries the same overlays as the cameras LCD, until you press record, when they get muted. Display is 4:3, with the 16:9 video feed letterboxed, and the overlays in the black bars top and bottom.
There's no Audio output in record mode either.
