We don't need no stinkin' EVF!

Always felt a bit compromised by the External LCD only screen on my MX-1. Down here in South Florida the sun can really give off a glare. In really sunny days all I really see in the LCD is a reflection of my face. GONE!! I bought a anti glare reflective film for the LCD and it really works. Really!

Meant to put this in Compact camera thread but this applies to Q's and K-01"s, too.

I wonder if it is worth putting one of these on K5IIs? Anyone tried?

For your information:

Pentax K 5 IIS Screen Protector GEARMAXX Anti Glare | eBay

Read on .. says it's compatible for the K5IIs (would be for the K5 and K5II as well)

I mean not if K5IIs is compatible, but is it worth putting one of these on since K5II/s have gapless screens?

OOps ! Sorry.

I would assume that the "antiglare" would do what it is supposed to do.

Thank you!
I guess, it is worth a try

Darn! I just paid about the same for a Delkin shade to replace the one that popped off my K-01 several months ago and disappeared. So after this new one does the same, or I get tired of having to hold the camera up high to see under the hood, I'll try Gearmaxx.

Thanks for the tip.

I like the hoodman loupe for my K-01. I have attached it to the camera with cotton wrapped elastic hair ties. Considerably more expensive and bulky than the Delkin Shade but I'm old enough that I appreciate the adjustable lens, and the light shielding is excellent.

Just ordered a set...thanks for the notice and I definitely agree about the Florida sun.

+1
But I don't fix mine to the camera, it's easy enough to use without needing it fixed there.
Found it very good when used when macro shooting.

I wanted to try it and got mine today. I have two K-01's and did a comparison in the sun. The cheap one was in fact better than Gearmaxx. But Gearmaxx has a nice fit and is usable, but no reason for having its own thread here :-)

I fix it to the camera because I'm mostly using manual focus lenses. Focus and aperture with my left hand, grip and whatever else with my right. If I'm doing auto-everything, it works fine to hold the hood with my left hand.

I'm liking the K-01 with the hoodman a lot.
