ricoh AF Rikenon 50mm f2 and K-01

I came across one of these when having a tidy up and thought this would be interesting to use on my K-r. I soon realised the bulky AF module which sits over the lens would clash with the K-r 's pentaprism/flash bulge ruling this out for dSLRs but can this lens be fitted on the K-01 (apart from obviously blocking the light from the flash)?

It should be fine. IIRC, the AF Rikenon is a standard K-mount (no Ricoh pin). Check for the pin to be sure. The AF is built into the lens (duh) and should work with any camera.

Thanks Steve,
it certainly doesn't have the dreaded Ricoh pin. In fact it doesn't have an 'A' setting on the lens either which surprised me.

No Ricoh lens ever had the A setting AFAIK. Ricoh lenses had the P setting on lenses with the Ricoh pin.

I have had (sold it some time ago) one as well - great little lens that will work on your K-01 without issues.
For flash use flash triggers.

...and the AF Rikenon predated the Ricoh program-capable cameras.

Surprising because multimodes were around earlier than AF lenses for 35mm cameras (or at least I thought)

The Ricoh AF 50mm dates to 1980, the XR-P came out in 1984...Prior to true XR-P Ricoh cameras were Aperture Priority, just like Pentax cameras before the Super Program.
