So what's up with the new Samsung NX mini. Again a new mount, as if we didn't have enough off them? But seriously, is this the camera that betters the Q7?

meh only three lenses and no inbody SR and only one lens with OS.

It's impressive to have crammed a "large" sensor in such a small body. however, one of the interests of the Pentax Q7 is the ability to attach K lenses to it, relatively easily (you can get a fotodiox dumb adapter for about 40$ if you only want the physical contact). Samsung's NEX line does not have that many lenses, so if they do make an adapter, the lens offer still won't be very compelling.

Many of those cameras are designed for people who will almost never buy a second lens, I think. People who feel that the quality must be better if the lens can be rmoved.

The Q is still like a fun tiny dslr whie this one got more of the smartphone ideology to it. It's a main threat against the cheaper Nex models than the Q.

Hmmm... I think this camera is stepping stone for Samsung. They are trying to merge camera and phone into something new and different. It's not just P&S with a removable lens. This is still a beginner's camera for those who are into the social media culture.

The Q line was meant to be a mini-DSLR complete with controls and IBIS. It's a "go-out-there-and-take-pictures" camera... a creativity tool.

I am impressed that they offer RAW image file output though.

Not enough dials, too slow to adjust settings, the Q is way better here.
Seems like the samsung is aimed as well heeled P&S people.
The lack of IBIS may mean often the benefit of the larger sensor is lost in low light or long zoom conditions.

I also think this is for people who buy this and one lens. The selfie-lens is all you need I think.
