FWIW, my GR is my bikepacking/biketouring camera (as in cycling). Basically same issues you described with added lack of real estate available to hold a camera. My Gr is either in my vest pocket or handlebar bag. Very easy to just pull out and snap a pic with one hand--even easier than a phone!
