Information LCD screen

After reading through the manual. I see there is no way 'by default' to have no LCD information displayed at power-up. Since most of my picture taking is/will be through the view find, I find that having the screen on to be not only a waste of power but also annoying light source. I know I can press the 'info' button to cycle through to a no display version, but the camera doesnt remember this setting at power off.
I gather that I haven't missed a setting here??

Cheers,

Russ

Yes. In the record menu, uncheck "display status screen".

Sorry I can't find it either, you can turn off the initial info screen showing time, date, shooting mode,(turn guide display to off rather than 3 or 10 sec's), then on power up the normal shooting screen is shown. But something is always on the lcd at power up.

Finally found it....
Go to Record menu 4 -> Memory -> Shooting Info Display
Check the box and come out to the main shooting mode

Toggle screen using Info button and then select blank screen.

Turn off your and Turn it on again and you wont see the Status screen any more.

Memory function remembers the last settings applied before you turn off your camera...

That's true but you must turn the screen off before turning off the camera if you used the record display every time you use it
