Are you implying that this is the launch date and time? If so, can you put up a countdown on the front page? Also, consider contacting PENTAX to see if you can start a teaser campaign. See https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/general-photography-industry/184462-penta...has-years.html.

It's a WR camera, but will be sold together with non-WR lens kits.
PENTAX. Hard at work.

They should expect a ton of negative press and reviews with that inventory-clearing, "make the user upgrade" decision. Not to mention a lot of pissed off customers.

Expect the K30 in France to be bundled with the 18-55WR, where this kind of misleading, bait and switch marketing is illegal.

I'm aware. The French ad was marketing the K30 as "tropicalized", and apparently according to their law, if something is marketed that way, it has to be that way without requiring another purchase. Imagine that.

16.2mp and 6fps - so, it is the K01 sensor and processing alg driving this thing and NOT the K5.

If this is the case, we are looking at 1-fps RAW shooting like the K01? If this (or that) is the case, that rules this out for a mid-level body and puts it back at entry level wouldn't you think?

I can't tell if you're joking here or not . Remember when the weather-sealed K10D was released and the tons of negative press hit all the front pages across the world? Remember when the K20D and K200D were released and lots of customers were pissed off? Remember when the weather-sealed LX was released people stormed the Pentax doors due to anger from misleading ads? Remember when...? I don't remember either! What are you talking about!?! Pentax has done weather sealing for years, long before WR and DA* lenses were around and no one I know was ever upset.

Some people are perfectly content to begin with a sealed body supplied with an inexpensive non-WR kit lens until they can afford a different, more expensive WR or sealed lens.

Others are found whinging on PF.

Then why is Pentax in a distant 3rd place in SLRs. some people are content, but the critical mass obviously aren't and buying other brands instead.

The K200D affordable WR concept was a good one, but there is a reason it didn't sell well and was dropped until just now. years later.

Perhaps it will have different bundling option? Basic package and a WR package? Of course if you already own a WR lens or two just buy the body. I think Pentax focuses more on repeat business rather than drawing in new clientele. That's where the money is IMO.

I can tell that to a lot of people who just bought the Canon 7D with the regular 18-55 or the extended 18-135 kit lenses, both of which are not WR. Or to a lot of other people who bought a Nikon D7000 with the regular kit lens, non-WR also. But, both bodies are WR, not explicitly stated in their marketing, but yes they are. I don't see people complaining that their WR camera didn't come with a WR lens with Canon and Nikon. In fact, I think Pentax is the only brand that does market its WR products with WR kits in most places.

Pentax is in a distant 3rd place because Canon and Nikon are so good with their marketing, I believe.
