K-30 with 18-55 kit lens A$899

Hi guys,

It would appear that Digidirect has this beauty for sale now at A$899.

Pentax K30 including DAL18-55mm Lens - Black | DigiDIRECT Australia

Seems only black version is available now. Maybe more colours will follow suit.

which colour do you prefer? I like the silver one which is supposed "limited" on K-5.

You can get the 18-55 mm lense in any color with Lense

BH has the K30 with the 18-55 mm WR lense in all three colors for $899. No lense is $850 for body only.

Actually I think the lens that is listed as part of the body+18-55mm kit is the AL lens, not the WR lens. In fact, it may even be the DAL lens which has a plastic mount. It might also be the DA AL II version which has a metal mount. It is unclear from the way the kits are listed. More than likely it is the DAL plastic mount lens. Those are the ones that were bundled with the K-r kits. The fact that the base kit doesn't include the WR 18-55mm lens is a major bone of contention for some forum visitors since the camera body is WR.

Exactly, why sell the WR body without a WR lense. You wouldn't be able to through a bucket of water at it!
That's what we want to do right?

We will see what it is when they finally got it out.

No... it's the AL non-WR lens... this has been brought up quite a few times after B&H began listing the K-30... it was assumed to be the WR 18-55 but it isn't.

Which is to say that it is the DA L version (plastic mount / no quick shift focusing), not the DA AL II version (metal mount / with quick shift focusing.) It is the same as the typical K-r kit bundled lens. I believe that the DA L versions of both the 18-55 or 50-200 are not meant for retail alone.

With Digidirect, the 18-55 non WR is one of the reasons why I decided on the K5 with a 18-55 WR for $999 from DWI.What the point of buying the K30 if it's only going to be half WR.
