When I switched from the K100D to the K-x I thought I'd miss the top LCD, but I don't. All the stuff that's displayed on the top LCD on the K100D is displayed on the rear screen on the K-x. Getting used to looking at the back of the camera as opposed to the top was no biggie.

Since the K-01 will get it with an update i doubt the K-30 will be left behind.

Updated list of K-5 advantages vs. K-30
I've corrected it and only 3-4 advantages left.

11) much longer battery life (~450 shots vs 1,000+)
That may be true with the Lion battery. But I think with Eneloop AA batteries, the battery life will be higher than 450 and still respectable.

K7 was the first Pentax DSLR with metal (mag alloy) body, followed by the K5. All others, including the K200D, have plastic body and stainless steel chassis.

Pentax K200D Review: Digital Photography Review

The camera's build quality is excellent. Like its predecessor the K200D's body is made of re-enforced ABS plastic. Underneath the hull though you'll find a stainless steel chassis (image below). Unusually for an entry-level camera the K200D is also splash- and dust-proof.

Theoretically, IQ wise, no 12bit camera can be better than a 14 bit camera. it's the DR thing.

Actually only with the K5 the 14bit actually started to be useful, the K20D, K7 and the entry cameras never had the range to cover more then 12bit.

with the better auto focus, and new processing engine, is k30 a better camera as far as image quality, sports, etc.
I do know that the k30 can't get as high ISO as the k5, but if the k30 has a cleaner image, the trade off is worth it for me.
I love the looks of the k30

Am also interested with a user comment about the K30 ISO compared to the K-X and the K5

Everything so far seems to indicate the K-01 and K-30 uses the same hardware so if you want a indication, use the K-01 and you will have a good estimate.

Yet again you're making judgements that are unsupported.

Many Singapore Pentax users who have managed to try the K-30 (albeit pre-production samples) found the cameras somewhat closer to the K-5. The camera does have an amalgamation of some bits of the current K-5, K-01 and K-r but it is definitely a stretch to make a claim that the K-01 and K-30 uses the same hardware. Even people I know who have tried the camera don't say what you say so I really don't know how you make up such statements especially not having even held the camera...
