You guys soon after he said it will ship this week, he said "U.S. cameras have shipped" Could this mean that the K-30's are currently on their way to US shelves right now from Japan or wherever they come from?

In my experience, when I have pre ordered something, I receive it when it arrives in stock. Most recently, I ordered a new ultra light backpacking tent from LL Bean. The shipment date was listed as June 24 but it arrived around the 15th.

JinDesu, I'm pretty sure it'll ship first to the major retailers like BHPhotoVideo, Adorama, and Amazon. So if you got it placed on one of those for pre-orders you're probably in luck.

I didn't pre-order it - I want it to be at B&H or Adorama so I can test the floor sample before buying.

I asked Pentax Imaging USA about the availability of the K-30 this morning via the chat option on their website. The rep told me that it would be available by mid-July. I wonder if the additional week is the time it takes for the dealers to sort out the shipments after receipt?

Just called Pentax, was told that the K-30 will be available by the "middle or end of this month."

So uh.. nothing has really changed? I think July 20th counts as middle to end of the month. So much conflicting info about this release without anything official...

Looks like someone needs to call Pentax customer rep again and ask them about the Pentax posting on Facebook about it being released this week. Because maybe either Pentax Facebook manager is misinformed or Pentax customer rep is misinformed. Or one have a outdated information. Because looks like our Facebook guy knows a lot of information, saying that it has been shipped out to the stores, which is one detailed post. I am going to try and have a chat with Pentax to clear this one up.

Dave Le: Hi, on the Pentax USA's official Facebook page, they state that Pentax K-30 will be released this week and is on it's way shipping to the stores from wherever the K-30 is from. However a few hours ago someone from the Pentax Forums have contacted the customer service rep via phone and they said the K-30 will be releasing mid-July . So everybody on the forums is very confused on the release date of the K-30.
Dave Le: I would like to know how updated your knowledge of the K-30's release date is and when's the last time you received information from Pentax about it, because maybe the Pentax USA Facebook rep recently got his information or maybe his is outdated and not yours. I'm really confused

Just got an email from local camera store, one K-30 in stock as of today. in NZ wooooo

Im gonna go down at lunch and if it takes my fancy i'll purchase - thats if its not a 'demo' only or something lame
