Strange K-30 with Lens combo from Amazon.

I've just ordered my K-30 from amazon with the 18-135 WR lens combo but then I notice the other combo they are selling, which is the one with the 18-55 mm lens, the lens isn't WR. Can someone confirm on this?

To get the lowest possible kit price the K-30 comes in a kit with the non-weathersealed 18-55mm lens. It does defeat the purpose of a weather sealed camera, though.

Sad. Some consumer will mistakenly believe that they have a WR combo. Just resist putting the non-WR combo together. If only PRIC wasn't so laissez-faire about things and were willing to mandate how their equipment is sold, but alas.......

You call that strange? What about the places down here that are seemingly selling it bundled with a Sigma 18-200mm :P

Are Dirt Cheap Cameras still in business after the Blunty rant? Wow.

Seriously, pairing a WR camera with a non-WR lens just to lower the price without pointing out that the lens is not WR is pretty bad long-term marketing IMHO.

but before k-7..the kit lens come with k200d and k20d are non-wr too, right?

I wholeheartedly agree, but I also think that comments like this one are true (especially since it fit with my own prior assumptions, anyway).

Yeah man the K-30 with 18-55 kit is not WR, the K-30 with 18-135 kit is WR.

...and all "weatherproof" Canon and Nikons DSLRs also come with non-WR kit lens...of course because it doesn't exist in Canikon world! The difference is that pentax has now spoiled us by giving us a WR body with WR lens (K7, K5), so I guess we now think this should be the rule!. I would love that, but I guess someone at Marketing Department thinks different!
