K-30 Clicking/Rattling Noise

I just got my K-30 (with 18-135mm kit) from AMAZON. Charged the battery and trying to take some photos. One thing that I immediately noticed is a small clicking or rattling sound when I moved the camera. I removed the lens and moved the camera with the lens cap on and it is still making those noise.

I do not know whether this has anything to do with the SR or something else. Since my K-5 is not with me for sometime (almost 3 months), I could not remember/verify whether it has similar sound or not.

Following are my initial impressions:

1) Camera feels a little cheap (bit of plastic feel - but okay) compared to K-5. It fits well into my hand
2) UI seems to be a little bit different, well organized.

I will post some photos today afternoon. It is 102 here so going out only in the afternoon.

Congratulations!

Congratulations on your purchase. Looking forward to your review and samples. I ordered mine from B&H, still no clue as to when the 18-135 kit will be available. I wish I had gone with Amazon as well. That way, I would have one to play with by now instead of a couple lenses which are no good with out the body.

Thanks.

I do not remember whether it was this much audible in K-5 (Since I have not used K-5 for sometime, I do not remember it clearly).

Camera is very compact and I am wondering whether M43 selling point on the size factor is relevant anymore....

Hmm interesting, I do remember my K-r being more "clunky" than my K-7, I don't know why.

the SR mechanism in my K-30 also makes an audible noise if you give it a rattle like recent Pentax DSLR. No biggie

Yes, Pentax cameras make a clunk/clack/click/rattle sound. That's why there are so many stickies on the forum about this.

I'd guess the weather sealing and metal bodies on the K-5 and K-7 help damoen the sound.
