Those do look nice indeed! Just wondering, the original size is 10800 x 7200...how is that possible with a 16.1 MP camera? Just my ignorance I am sure..

Because it's a 4-shot composition image

There was some slightly incorrect information in the Amazon questions section, regarding liveview updating on the fly - i've left a detailed reply with my gfs login

Hard to take seriously someone who only used the camera for 1 hour before putting up a review. Not to mention someone who has 'Dances with Wolves' on their bookshelf ... But OTOH he does have some great shots on his flickr.

Also I doubt the high-ISO could be that much different than the K-5/K-01, given they all share the same sensor. Maybe Pentax have been able to apply more CPU power to a better JPG engine in the K-30, but the performance with RAW should be similar to the K-5.

He was "blown away" by the low light performance..... must be referring to JPEGs. I can't believe the RAWs would be much different (if at all) than his K5 (assuming he has one).

I've got just about every spare piece of gear and several high end porcelain FM collector's dolls listed on my local CL hoping to sell it all off so I can buy one of these. I'm watching every thread on here about the K-30 avidly. I'm still a bit leery on buying one the first few months though. I want to make sure there is no sensor spots snafu with these like there was with the early K-5's. It's probably a good thing I have to work a while yet to earn the $$$ for it. I really want one and if I had the $$$ in hand I'd probably cave in a buy one right NOW and that might not actually be the best thing to do. Prices will go down around the holidays. There are bound to be some sales. Just because I've got a major case of camera lust is no reason to practice unsafe purchasing, right? ;P I'd practically kill for a K-30 and that WR 18-135mm though. That pair darned near makes me have an orgasm just looking at ads for it, sigh...

Good job they're moisture resistant then, Mags!

Like you I'm very keen on this camera, but will bide my time before I purchase one.

I'm assuming the sensor is shared with the k-01 so the bugs have been worked out.
Since most of the complaints of recent cams have been around AF and that seems to be the big 'focus' of this camera I am going to bet issues will be minimal.
That being said I'm still going to save my pennies for k-5 replacement just because I've grown fond of the quiet shutter.
