The Tufted Titmouse, Chickadee, sparrows and Cardinals didn't take long but the Bluejays and Red Bellied Woodpecker didn't come close for 2 weeks or more. But once they see you (and they will) for a while they should gradually get the idea you're not looking for lunch. Don't move around a lot, no sudden moves, and don't lick your lips. They think that means you're hungry.

Have a place nearby with some shrubs and trees they can scoot to and hide, and a bird bath not far away helps too. Most birds prefer sunflower seeds, the bird seed I get is the one with the most sunflower seeds and I have plenty visitors.
Thanks for the tips, Pete. We do have plenty of shrubs out front.

While it is so cold in the Northern Hemisphere, it's quite sunny and nice down south (Peru)

Your turn is coming. Our son-in-law grew up in Uruguay, so we get regular weather reports. It has been brutally hot on the Atlantic side of the continent.

build in flash on the K-30 works rather well with DA15 Limited for this sort of shots

Haha probably...I have the 18-55wr but I'm starting to dislike using mine..idk mine doesn't always take good shots..I usually have my 35mm 2.4 on my k30 now..at least until I can get the 10-20..but they all look great man..regardless of the lens u used
