I got my K-30 on 2013. A year after it's release. I was looking at Canon/Nikon and I couldn't choose since both of them offer little features and I felt like I was paying for the name more than the hardware.
After long look over Canon 60D and Pentax K30. I came to the conclusion that I would be getting far more with the K30 than the 60D for the price I would pay. I got the 18-55mm WR K30 package from amazon for $550ish.

First snow storm of the 2013 I went out walking at 11:00pm. And it was nice not having worry about water getting in anywhere. Btw... this is the first camera I've ever owned. First digital camera.
