Took this one with the 18-55mm WR at f3.5, straight from camera. Converted RAW to JPG.

Yes, great wedding pics! Proves that you dont need a Canon 5D Mark III to take photos at a wedding..

The positive comments are well deserved. Can you share with us how you set up your camera for the shots?

Thanks - I'm not sure what to say about it tbh. I wrote "K-30's" before but I remembered wrong. I used K-30 and K-x (bought a second K-30 within a month after this wedding). I typically start with Sigma 17-50mm f2.8 on one body (K-x) but it broke 2 weddings prior to this (zoom jammed) and I instead relied on 21mm Limited. Tbh. I never missed the Sigma The K-30 had Sigma 70-200 f2.8 on it for majority of the time. It's not unusual for me to switch between AF-S and AF-C depending on whats going on or what type of light I'm shooting at. I rely more on AF-C in low light conditions.

I also used the 35mm Limited Macro and 70mm Limited with the K-30 quiet a bit and Sigma 10-20mm f4-5.6 for larger group photos. I actually did my fav group photo at this wedding as well (below).

I always expose manually and shoot in RAW and also always have the white balance set to something fixed. It can be tricky with manual exposures but I feel quiet confident about it - I try to keep my head several minutes ahead to better prepare myself for whatever might happen, but while also being present at the moment. I try to memorize the next exposure setting I might be using (I really, really don't get why these can't be saved in the User modes - would make life so much easier).

This was my second wedding using the K-30 - first one a week prior to this so I wasn't fully accustomed to the camera and therefore didn't want to get confused between the K-30 and K-x in the middle of key moments. I kept the settings as close as possible for this reason.

All except party shots were shot without any flash - some people swear by it, but I hate it. When I do use it though, it's on manual as well. Auto exposure and flash output is too random for me and that's not a Pentax thing - I'd be doing the same with Canikons.

I shoot a lot and I'm not shy about using continuous shooting mode. I do not blindly spray and pray though.

I hope that answered your question.

Some great photos in this thread, hopefully I can post something close to the quality of them, when my K-30 eventually arrives!
