That's what cats do, y'know...

If a bit of good-spirited, neighborly banter (I was born and raised in Denmark, before leaving some 20 years back) is permitted..."that's also what Norwegians do - combine the two, I'm surprised she is awake long enough to eat every day"

Friends of mine live with 3 Norwegian forest cats. Lovely creatures, all around. One of them is about 4 years old, and he still has the energy and the playfulness of a kitten: toss him a paper bag, and he's entertained for hours. All those 3 are "blackish", your pretty lady is the first "whiteish" Norwegian forest cat I've seen. Digressions are easy when affronted with cute felines

This was one of the two moments in almost half an hour she had her eyes open.
Very lovely portrait also. She seems like a sweetie.

Yes I know. I have a 12 year-old black cat at home, you might have seen some photos of here in this thread.
Thanks for the compliments. I'm still not experienced enough with DSLR photography, after almost one year of K-30, but it seems that the photography course I took this spring pays off.

Changing the subject now, here's a solitary climber:

Forgot to change the settings (after trying to shoot an eagle with 1/1000s shutter speed) and I ended up with a sensitivity of ISO 10000. Good to be a K-30 owner, eh?

Oh, just once or twice

Well, you're doing nicely, I'd say....

Wow, I'd never have guessed. It's a nice shot too, you (and the K30) seem to get along quite well.

Not the best but makes me pleased I shoot jpeg & RAW, a squirrel appeared in my garden so I quickly took a shot not realising I had left the ISO on 100 so the OOC jpeg looked very black, and before I could adjust my settings he was off - putting the RAW through LR3 showed how much data was hiding in there to recover ...

Me either, there are some shots I've taken with less of a sensitivity full of noise anywhere above 6400 ISO.

BTW RedMist that is awesome work.

Thanks but it was honestly only a quick 1 minute fix, changed exposure comp to +4, Brightness to +150 and I was genuinely surprised how much was recovered, I think the fact it was ISO 100 helped here - I tried doing the same to the OOC Jpeg but it was very poor and lacked almost any colour!

That's what I am saying. Compared to the RAW's exposed correctly @ 6400 going underexposed seems by your example worth the try.

A few from the beach and the zoo.

With the 18-55WR:

And with the DA 55-300mm:

I'm still a novice DSLR shooter, but it was very challenging to get good pictures at the zoo in full midday sun. The contrast between very bright sun and the shadows where the animals were hiding out made me stretch my limits a bit. But the K-30 is great, and I'm loving the 55-300 I bought from someone on the marketplace here a little over a month ago.

Onandanga Caves here in Missouri (these were handheld, but they offer once a month photography tours which you can set up your tripods and take as long as you want...i am really interested in that. All my shots had to be at ISO 6400).

Received a request from Getty Images to licence one of my photos. But the photo is quite average (don't know why they want it?) So I thought I would go out and try and improve on it. The original was just a single shot with an FA77. Was blown out and poorly framed. This is a (+/-3) bracketed 3 shot panorama using 18-135 at 100mm. Still not 100% happy but at least it isn't blown out this time. A tough subject that has lights bright enough to give an orange glow to the night sky to my city, which starts just behind and to the left of where I am standing here.

Click here!!!!! Bigger is definitely better with this image
