Very nice moon photo. I've taken similar photos with my 300mm so I am assuming you cropped this image. That or the moon is a LOT closer to Spain than Lake Superior!
Tried it myself with the 55-300, handheld. Cropped, of course:

And ("not again!") a panorama:

Liked this one.

p.s. I was born in Grigishkes near Trakai, don't know what my parents did there , they are not lithuanians though.
And I also liked Birshtonas - nice little town, I was staying there for 2 wks over 20yrs ago. I would appreciate to see pics of those areas If you have some.

Wow that moon shot is amazing! Great Job! especially considering the Exif data
Exposure 0.006 sec (1/160)
Aperture f/5.8
Focal Length 300 mm
ISO Speed 100

Subject Distance Range -> Distant LOL indeed.

Do you happen to know the NR setting that was used?

Thanks, guys!

The settings were the following:
- custom image - natural
- all corrections off
- TAv mode
- spot metering

I have the NR set on custom and it starts to work at ISO 400. At ISO 100 and ISO 200 is off.
The key factor was spot metering. First I tried with center-weighted metering and manual mode, but the moon was too bright, the meter was fooled by the light and the photos came out over-exposed.
The photo was a bit of a challenge, because a friend of mine, who's a pro photographer, told me whithout any additional details that he took a shot of the full moon with a shutter speed of 1/500 seconds.

Very strange post involved for this one. I downloaded Registax to mess with image stacking in case ISON lives up to the hype, and the only real set of interval shots I had was from last Spring taken out the window.

This is the end result of about 200 shots, stacked, ranging from daylight to to near dark. It almost reminds me of an HDR effect, though its not.

I created a thread in the gallery section, but I might just add some here for those who don't look that way.

I went with some work mates To Kroombit Tops National Park the other day. One of the features is it is the resting site for Beautiful Betsy a WW2 B24 that crashed in 1945 but was only located in 1994. For series of pictures can be found here.

The boys meeting up after travelling to the park. That V8 diesel Land cruiser at the front just is just amazing to drive in the rugged terrain.

The Lookout

This is the tail section. The plane hit the side of the mountain and flipped. All 6 crew and 2 passengers died. No warning was given. No mayday call made. No parachutes were deployed.

The wreckage is spread over a fair area.

This is an example of a Queenslander style farm house. Queenslanders are distinct for their use of a veranda that surrounds most of the house, adding shade and cooling the house. Purple Jacaranda tree behind the house and the fresh white paint caught my eye.

Been a while since this house has been lived in. I am guessing that is a workers quarters to the left. Strangely it is on concrete stumps. Which is odd and belies the age of the rest of the building. It had either been re-stumped in the last 20 or 30 years or relocated. Either is unusual.

My boy today.

Smiling Eyes by -Occasionally Focused-

K-30 with Pentax SMC-M 50mm f/2

It's a bit soft, but there wasn't that much light so I had it wide open.

Manual focus might've been off too.

Lots of looking in to the sun as we continue to lose daylight in the frozen north.
