It was about 10F here in Northern NY when I got these pictures, combine that with a pretty constant wind coming off the lake and the conditions were pretty unpleasant. The temperature really dropped in the last day or two, so nothing is frozen yet (it was in the 40's just two days ago)

Not as cold as up there, but still not somewhere I'd want to have a picnic
No me neither. Again, I like all the images in your post. Suggestion? Go into your profile and add a location so everyone knows in what part of the world you typically shoot.

Close to perfect, the focus would be better on the eyes, but great shot.
Yeah, it's not quite there, I agree. I should have gone with manual focus, I think, as the autofocus didn't know where to look.

Also, thinking about it, the eye might even have been just inside the minimum focusing distance.

My friends were married last night on the Chena River in Fairbanks at sunset (2:30pm) and asked me to shoot for them. We got there with just enough light left...

Orion's nebula

Had another chance to test the O-GPS1 Astrotracer function with my K-30. This is a stack of six 40 s exposures in a light polluted sky (50 km west of Montreal, Canada). The tracking is not perfect as seen by the elongated star images but not bad at all. The precision of the electronic compass is really the wild card here I think.

I used an old smc PENTAX-A 135 1:2.8 lens at f/4.0, iso 1600
