Cheap, fast, does what it says on the tin. Obviously its no Photoshop, but when one doesn't have time to fully post process. Which is most of the time! Only thing is its hard to customize so you have to work a bit harder to avoid everything looking like an instagram photo!

with DA 55-300 at 135mm, this lens focuses much quicker and more accurately on the K-30 than it did on the K-20, and hunts less. That did not really make a lot of difference in this photo:

with the DA18-135:

with DA18-138, ISO6400:

with a Kiron 28/2 using Live View & Focus Peaking, crop follows to show detail:

I'm just experimenting - trying to get the hang of shallow DOF - in shade, f/2 at 1/60th - SMC Tak 55mm f/1.8

Any advice - very welcome, please...!

Regards, Dave.

Here are some pictures taken this week. I am still on my first days, so I'm still getting used to the camera..
All pictures takem with the 18-135 WR lens.. I had read some reviews not praising this lens, but I am finding it very very good... Contrast and color are very acurate.. Focusing on the k-30 is great (not in dim light) - I always use spot focusing.

Very Very Good..

Ferret with a treat. K30 platform

Yum yum! I am very new to the camera scene. I am loving my k30 even though I am using it as a point and shoot now.

I took this shot while walking along the Kanda river the other day near my house on the west side of Tokyo. Taken with my new lens - a Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4 DC Macro

Another one enjoying the K-30. Lens I use with it are Tamron 17-50, 40 ltd, 55 tak 1.8.

Nice camera to use. Occasionally I find the auto white balance quite blue, and I do wish there was a better way to turn the LCD off and on, such as the auto sensor on the OM-D. Otherwise, solid camera, a perfect street camera.
