Beautiful shot. Question? How did you do this? Manual focus short of the subject and then burst mode shooting?

Thanks! Yes, exactly - this was with the old SMC-A 50/1.7 that came as a standard lens with my old Super A, my first 'real' SLR when I was teenager... (wow, now I feel old)

Thanks... You have inspired me to try this with my daughter when I get my Helios 44M. Might try some variations too.

Have fun! I also experimented with a small flashlight stuck to a post at the side, shining across the focal plane with the intention of highlighting the in-focus seeds, but to be honest I don't think it made the slightest bit of difference in the end :-)

I'm loving the K-30, though - it's really rekindled my interest in photography, after many years - so much to learn...

Some shots on the fly while we were out on the boat. I'm still learning some of the ins and outs of this camera, I'm no expert by any means. That weather proofing is sure nice when boating. Kind of bothered me to see that coasties head in the beam path of the radar.

Here's one from a couple of weeks back on a walk in the late afternoon along the railroad tracks near my house.

A couple of the fastest, perpetual motion birds at the feeders.

Black-capped Chickadee (I guess)
