Wait a min. Whats the full name of the 1.7 that has af? If its the supposedly mighty 50mm 1.7 I knew it didn't need an adapter, but didn't know it was auto focusing.

pinholecam - are using the HDR feature for theseshots?

Sounds like everyone likes this camera. That is so encouraging.

Wow .. both shots are nice!!!! If i am correct, this is taken in Taiwan? Make me want to go there now.. :X
the 1st shot have the 3D feel, so does the 2nd.

In Cam HDR or? With which lens?

Stunning shots. +1 for what lens?

Also the K30 has a self timer.

Thanks guys.

Both shots with the DA15ltd.
Certainly a gem unique to Pentax.
So small a UWA for the non-driving traveller.

On the point of timer release, I was referring to using the timer release of 3 bracket exp compensation.

Shot#2 was HDR (using Nik HDR Efex)
Shot#1 was just 1 shot with exposure centered as much as possible and then shadow/highlights recovered in RAW.

The F or FA 50mm f1.7 are the ones that have autofocus I believe.

I bought the M version (the manual one) which was relatively cheap. Fun to play around with.

Well, I found out in the wedding, I need to learn a little bit more how much dof I have on these lenses in relation to the apertures in terms of photographing a couple from the side, where one person is almost in front of the other or even at an angle in order to catch both sharp. I think I need a speed light for that in lower, church, type of settings. I was checking the FA 50mm 1.7 and I saw one around 200, Is that the prices they are commanding? too low, too high? or just right?

Sunlit conch shell

Saw this conch shell being washed up on the beach. We rarely find one that isn't broken, so this was a great find.
