Bad quality (5 MP) with crappy zoom lens (Tamron 70-300), crop, and high-ish ISO, but I like how it turned out.

I think I'll go back and re-shoot this with a better lens and higher MP resolution...

EDIT: Here is take 2 with the DA* 50-135 and @ 16 MP.

MMM yeah if I would have seen those two I would not have even asked!!! lol Nothing that nice around here.

We got them iron fence post sorta like this one.

And we also got a factory that has a big mountain of what looks to be sand or other sandy material close to the rail tracks. I may have to go in there and take a photograph and post it later on.

I took my K-30 for a wander around campus the other day to have a go taking some building shots for a change - my K-30 was purchased primary with wildlife photography in mind. I've also started playing with Lightroom and shooting in RAW, which I previously haven't done. Any tips/advice welcome.

My first moon photo with my K30. No tripod, just using my knee as a brace.

Try using a higher ISO to allow you a faster shutter speed. At ISO 800 you'll get a shutter speed of 1/800 which will easily give you a shake free image, just as good as you would using a tripod. The loss of quality (more noise) at ISO800 is barely noticeable but will give you a huge advantage in higher shutter speed. Stopping down a bit more (say F8) will probably also get you a slightly sharper image, even if at the expense of some shutter speed.
