The northern lights have been out BIG the last couple nights. Looking out my front door...

Looking over Fairbanks, unfortunately they weren't going crazy over town, more so over the hill I was standing on

All taken with a Sigma Mini-Wide II 28mm, I really need a wider lens that I can manual focus... and need to stop leaving my camera in jpeg mode.

Awesome photo. That looks like California. Correct me if I am wrong. What lens did you use? DA 18-55mm WR?

And a couple of pets:

Taken with the 55-300mm in TAv mode. Note the ISO values (1000 for the first photo and 1250 for the second one).

Your photo isn't pixellated - it was shot using ISO 6400 which is giving you all the noise. You could and should have used something low like ISO 100.

Have you tried to change the ISO value? try to shoot a photo with ISO 200 and check if it is pixilated as well

Photo taken on January 10th. Well it isn't one of the Great Lakes! I agree with the others. Your camera is using a manual ISO that is at least 4 stops too fast for the light in this scene. Either switch to a wider auto-ISO or manually set ISO to 200. See page 85 in your manual.

Thank you! i took it for granted as i had kept camera on auto and thought it would self adjust...

Is it possible in settings that i have forced set on single ISO?

Again Thank you All!!
