Black with 18-135... Love it so far.. (exception being the inability to take bracketed shots using the IR remote!) Come on Pentax! What were you thinking!?
Works with the cable release though.

I got one too

Bought mine from SLRhut, even with shipping to the UK it's way cheaper than anything local.

LOVING IT!

A very worthy upgrade

I just got mine, too. I upgraded from the K-x, which I am going to keep as a backup. Even after reading so much about it, it still surprised me at what a fantastic camera it is. IQ and resolution are excellent, AF is incredibly accurate and fast, the back LCD is awesome, the viewfinder is bright and much better suited for MF lenses, and talk about feature-rich. I hope Pentax can get the word out. What a deal.

Should I sell my Canon T2i, Sigma 10-20, and Sigma 30mm to buy the K-30 with 18-135mm? I would probably sell the 18-135 as I don't use zoom much. I would love to get the WR 18-55mm and probably get the Sigma 30mm again.

I just got the blue one last week and I absolutely love it. I upgraded from a K 20D that I am very fond of. Time to sell it and upgrade so I did it. Been playing with my K-30 and love it with my 50-135 DA*. I really like how much lighter it is than my K 20D.

Picked mine (black) up today from my local Pentax dealer. My other post (https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-k-30/201131-getting-k-30-sooner-than-planned.html) explains my new purchase. Right now I'm working my way through the manual and deciding what in-camera settings to use - certainly a lot more options than the K200. Initial impressions convince me that I made a good choice.

Regards

Have one, couple of months now.

Got a kit with 18-135 and really have been enjoying it. Also have a couple of other older lenses have yet to really get into using them much, but will eventually.

If you want a nice WR kit definitely. You can buy the K-30 without the 18-135, unless of course you want to check it out first. I got the 18-135 just to have a WR lens other than the D FA 100 Macro WR I already had. After reading the early reviews of this lens back when it first came out, I'm totally stunned at how good it is, it's on the K-30 over 50% of the time.

Just got a K30, upgrading from a K200D. Seems to be a bit noisy- but I think I'm just taking low light shots I never could have taken at all before. Anyone have any go tO Settings you changed from the default to improve iQ?

Do this to make sure you can access all the inbetween ISO settings. Its not apparent from the manual that making this change affects your ISO.

Found this out from this thread-K30 Manual ISO setings

Custom Settings 1 -> 2. Sensitivity Steps. This defaults to 1 (1 EV step), which only allows you to set 100, 200, 400 and so on. You want to set it to 2 (As EV Steps). Then it will go in increments of 1/2 or 1/3 EV, depending on custom setting 1, Sensitivity Step.

Just got my first DSLR, a K30. Got it shipped to India, from the Pentax Singapore webstore. Still going through the manual, trying to get a hold of things!

Received my black K30 body in the past few days. I was fortunate to acquire a near new unit with under 300 sactuations, at an exceptional price. Personally, I consider it an upgrade from the K5 I sold a few months ago. I never had any problems with the K5, and consider the K30 at least its equal in real world shooting. It has been easy shooting great pics with my FA and DA Limited primes. Seems to mate particularly well with my Tamron 28-75mm F2.8 AF XR Di LD Macro SP. AF is quick and accurate so far.

Purchased my K30 locally at a brick/mortar shop in Lakewood WA which carries a pretty fair selection of Pentax cameras and lenses. Traded in my 2 year old K-r. Probably could have sold it on the forum or ebay, but I like that this shop carries their stuff and I can check the equipment out before buying, and I just decided I had to upgrade. Don't regret the decision at all as I noticed right away K30 is a real improvement. My unit had zero activations and has been performing flawlessly. No I just have to get used to the button placement and the second dial. I've been playing with focus peaking with my older glass. A real step up from the k-r
