Hello Everyone!
New to the forum - just pulled the trigger on a K-30 last night! It is slated to be delivered tomorrow but I think Friday or Saturday is more realistic but we will see! I have heard nothing but good things and the comparisons against the 'other brands' are promising! Now - to save for those nice lenses!!

I've had the k30 for a few months and love it. Yesterday I bit the bullet and bought three lenses!! The DA 35 and 50 plus the 18-135 I hope it was money well spent.

Oh, it will be money well spent. The 18-135 is a great travel lens.

So far the lenses all arrived but the 18-135 was a reconditioned lens. Amazon made it right with a 115.00 refund, but I have no lens hood. All the test shots have shown the two primes to be very sharp around F8 and the zoom at about F16 on the long end.

Got a good deal on a black K-30 body. I've played with it for a day, and I'm loving it. It's super responsive, and switches fluidly between live view and SLR mode.

No serious gripes yet, but each of my three Pentax bodies has a different battery and charger, which seems a bit silly.

Have a white K-30 with the basic 18-55 kit lens in transit. It should arrive by mid-week next week. I got it through Air Miles Canada, by redeeming my Air Miles (so, for free, essentially).

You might want to sell of the 18-55 and get the 18-135 for the WR instead.

I've had my K30 blue body for 3 months now and love it. Working on figuring out what lens is next. Any suggestions for travel? 18-135 WR?

I've had my K-30 for a while now and love it. I bought mine w/ the 18-135mm WR and it's been a fantastic "do anything" sort of lens. I did pick up a used 55-300mm to get more reach, which came in very handy at the zoo the other day - even then there are animals I couldn't get close enough to but it was a big help.

Now I'm getting more interested in prime lenses. I'm using old manual-focus ones right now until I feel like I understand what I really want before spending on the higher priced modern stuff.

That lens is a great companion to your K-30 No need to worry about a drizzle and enough reach and flexibility for a travel lens.

I can also recommend the DAL 55-300mm lens for longer reach. No WR but a good compliment to the 18-135mm, especially if you are on a budget. (I can't afford the DA* 60-250mm hehe)
With those two or only the 18-135mm your pretty set for travelling.
